I would rate this novel 2 out of 4 stars. While the premise behind the story is interesting, as someone who really enjoys character development and character interactions, this story was a bit lacking for me. If the characters had been expanded upon a bit more and the dialogue more authentic, it would have received a much higher rating. This is good for readers who enjoy action-packed novels and aren't bothered by a lack of character development.

Huh, it looks like for many the title is misleading! I would have assumed it would be romance too.

Otherwise, this book looks like something I'd like to check out! I haven't read it yet.

I think it is quite clear to me that this book would not be up my isle if there are comments that people who do like romance may not like the novel. I personally do not like audio books, I get more feeling out of reading the written word. It is interesting that so many people think that the description is misleading.

It is an action novel, fast-paced, well told and well edited, ideal for people who like this kind of genre, I think the rating of 3 out of 4 stars is fair.

There wasn’t a thing I liked about this book.
Romance isn’t normally my cup of tea, but sometimes we step out of our comfort zone, right? Trying new things... broadening our horizons.
It’s not technically romance. Maybe a thrilling spy novel? But then again, it doesn’t live up to that either.
Everything is easy for the US team. The CIA agent is absolutely unrealistic.
I don’t wanna ruin this for anyone with further details.
I gave it 1 out of 4 stars, because I personally believe the book was not good at all.

I would go with 3 of 4 stars for this book. It's excellent as an action thriller, but not so good when it comes to character development. The characters often seem like puppets who are just there to make the plot work.

AntonelaMaria, Thanks for the suggestion of listening to the audio. I work and play on my computer a lot so having something to listen to while I'm on the computer is helpful/nice. A question for you other readers/users of audio, what audio service do you like the best?

I loved the book in most of it's aspects, however, the title is misleading as I expected much romance which was only implied.

I have to pass on this book. I read another book by this author and was not a fan. I did read the sample of EMP online just to give Mercer another chance, but I had the same reaction. I am happy that she appeals to other readers, but it is just not for me.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. I liked that the reader got so many different points of view in the story. The different angles were interesting. The only part I didn't like was some of the somewhat sexist language. Sexist might not be the best way to describe what I mean. But in one part, Steve referred to Sharon's "cute little butt" and that seemed disrespectful for such an accomplished woman. That's just a minor issue though, and since the book is technically a romance novel it does make sense.

I rated this book 3 out of 4 stars. I couldn't put it down and had to keep reading, but I found grammar errors so I couldn't give it a perfect 4.

I wasn't a huge fan of Mercer's previous book of the month, but E-M-P Honeymoon was actually much better! It wasn't so romancey and had more action.

I thought it was a pretty strong book. The plot was good and the characters were good. It's undeniably a book meant for entertainment rather than real emotion or thought, but nothing's wrong with that every once in awhile.

I don't know if I would have selected it but reading the reviews and seeing it in BOTM makes it an interesting story. I'll enjoy it.

I agree! I usually enjoy sci-fi novels, especially ones dealing with space, but I didn’t really enjoy E-M-P Honeymoon that much. I feel like the romance label was misplaced within this novel, but it was at least an interesting read.
