He definitely sniffed blood there!Nym182 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 09:52I totally blocked out that he sniffed the blood...Howlan wrote: ↑26 Feb 2020, 15:40We are talking about a serial killer who has sniffed blood here!gilliansisley wrote: ↑26 Feb 2020, 12:05
EXACTLY. The same as, "OHHHH you have magical powers you can't understand? That explains why you kidnapped, almost raped and basically killed Terry. That's totally okay!"![]()

No way, there's no chance that anything he could have done would have redeemed himself. He was a psychopath from the getgo, and that was never going to be "changed by teenage love". Just awful.

Yes, I understand the thrill aspect of the book though.

Yeah it really felt like an erotica at that point.

I will not though. I relish reading about character developments so such change without any significant character development is unacceptable.

I am guilty of putting down some books which I find too monotonous with no grip.

I can relate to that. Though it is satisfying in the end mostly.

I am so guilty on this. I stopped reading many books in the middle. Especially stories which I cant invest in.Nym182 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 10:23I'm the same way! I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the next book if I put one down prematurely... It would haunt me![]()

This book belongs to the genre "Bad for young adults"Nym182 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 10:26I agree! Honestly, I'm not quite sure WHERE to put this book... I just know it's not going into the YA genre. And you are right, it would have become a slippery slope very quickly had he crossed that line.Kelyn wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 00:00It shouldn't have been dubbed YA in the first place. Even though I don't think it qualifies as erotica and certainly not porn (there are far more explicit books out there in almost every bookstore's romance section), having his resistance crumble and beginning an actual relationship with his mom would have taken it up (down?) several levels in tone. I agree that it would probably have led to his acting out in other areas/ways as well.

Yes, I am quite sure the author had different plans in the beginning of the book.

Yeah the author should have started with a random encounter of an Iksha and a Descendant, not with this stuff.

Still, was so weird reading about it.readerrihana wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 10:50 I agree that it was not really apporopriate and was not nice reading, but I guess in reality it was trying to show - we find out later on that the attraction was not actually sexual but because of something she had been given and he was attracted to that but was unaware
So perhaps not actual sexual in reality

Yes, I would have preferred any other excuse.Nym182 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 10:52I get what you are saying, but for me "the serum excuse" just didn't make it any less creepy.readerrihana wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 10:50 I agree that it was not really apporopriate and was not nice reading, but I guess in reality it was trying to show - we find out later on that the attraction was not actually sexual but because of something she had been given and he was attracted to that but was unaware
