Wow, I did not know about this series. Thank you for the info. I am a big fan of Once upon a time TV series. Now, I will check out these books too.

A few years ago, Anne Hathaway stared in a movie remake of the book. it was once upon a time my favorite, most adored movie... that is, up until i read the book and realized that it is 1000 times better than the cheesy, terrible movie. lol.
I too watched the movie a decade ago and loved it then. I have the book in my To be read pile. After this comment, I will surely read it ASAP.

I love the author Shannon Hale. She writes these kinds of princess stories with twists. I especially love her series The Books of Bayern. I also love Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. She also wrote The Two Princesses of Bamarre which is also great.

One of my very favorites is The Golden Princess and the Moon by Anna Maria Mendell. I HIGHLY recommend it. It is a retelling of sleeping beauty and it is sooo good, and also very different from the original.

I would have to say Ella would be the only one to come to mind. I have no idea why no other stories seem to come to mind at the moment.

The Alchemist had a good twist. I didn't know where the treasure was so as many readers. I think I loved the twist the most.
