She is a likable character, no matter how unlikely her adventures. I would have liked to see her interact with someone not so rich and famous as the Hollywood set.Cynthia_Oluchi wrote: ↑25 Mar 2020, 06:23 This is an honest review. Maybe a little more touch on the book will top up the stars, it seems to be potentially promising. By the way? Aura must be a very sweet girl.

I really wonder at authors who allow the character's name to be misspelled. It really throws the reader, expecially when the misspelling was when the character is first introduced. I had to navigate around to figure out if there was someone new in the story, or if I misread it. But no, it was just thoughtless writing. A couple of rounds of professional proofreading would do wonders.

Good point. An author puts in so much effort to write a book and then doesn't have it proofread. In other books, I have noticed that some characters don't just change the spelling of their names, but also completely change names!djr6090 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2020, 11:33I really wonder at authors who allow the character's name to be misspelled. The premise was sound. Its a pity the plot didn't gel.
Thanks for the enjoyably insightful review!

Thank you for the praise. I try hard to write engaging reviews, and love to hear that they are appreciated.KimberlyS88 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 09:33 I like a good midwestern story and how you outlines the book very well, nicely done!

Yes, Africa. And she was planning on adopting one of the orphans, only as a publicity ploy. The book could have illustrated the need for help for some of these children, but breezed through without connecting the reader emotionally to any of the African politics. Even a tongue-in-cheek comedy could have spared a few lines on the reality of being parentless in a third world country.

Glad to be of help. I live a simple life, too. And the glitter and puffery of the rich and famous makes me cringe.
