The summary of the story brought chills down my body. I don't fancy reading vampire stories. I'll skip this book. Thank you for your detailed and honest review.

A very interesting idea, but not that great execution, I believe :) I hope the author fixes all the flaws. Thank you for a great review!

To be honest, this doesn't sound like something I'd read, but you've definitely done it justice. I liked that you pointed out that the sex scenes are a bit overpowering, and that they aren't always used to flesh out the romance. Like you, I don't mind erotic scenes that are intrinsic to the plot.
Thanks for the thorough review. While I'm curious to see how the author meshes vampires with slavery in such few pages, I'll probably skip this one.

I would have liked for the rescuing-slaves part to have been developed more. However, the idea was unique, and I enjoyed it.

I think the story is trying to be a dupe of the twilight series. Well, I also don't mind reading sex or romantic scenes. However, it depends on the relevance of the story. If it actually focuses on being a romantic drama or does it just use sex to increase reader's appeal.

From the review, I like how the book is tackling slavery especially black slavery. You don't find a vampire book that tackles slavery everyday. Thank you for this!

I understand what you mean. This story is a little different from the Twilight series, though, since it is set back in the days of slavery in the US and the protagonist is trying to rescue slaves. Thanks for the comments!

This novel talks about Enoch. He acquired a plantation and a shipping business. This story is enjoyable.
