I read it a couple of years ago and, although I do not remember the specifics of the story, I know that I enjoyed it very much. The main character grows so much during the story that she is barely the same person at the end. I would like to read it again.

I ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! I had read it in middle school and after I finished it I just ran out to play with new vigor because I felt I had read something reallllly beautiful. The garden was in full bloom, the family was united, there was every reason to be happy!! So it was really special for me! I don't even remember the names of the characters now but I was happy they had grown so much. How the girl went from a stubborn skinny brat to a plump girl who improved the life of her cousin and they all lived happily ever after. Classic!

The Secret Garden is a very interesting novel. Anybody from any age group could read and enjoy the story.

'The Secret Garden' is an absolutely magical book. Loved the way the author showed how the garden was the best medicine for the crippled boy.

I love The Secret Garden! One of my favourite classics! I remember being so put out when an English teacher of mine dismissed it as just a kid's book - years later it's just as magical to me.

Hands down one of my most favorite children's books of all time! I love all the movie adaptations. As a child, I had dreams where I found keys and secret doors to places.
There was an old building in my hometown that was completely covered in vines and I would stare at it wondering if it had a secret door.
To this day, I am obsessed with old keys and things that can be locked like music/jewelry boxes. I have an old antique key tattooed on my sternum.
I was able to find a Barnes & Noble special edition print of The Secret Garden for $10 and it has beautiful art!
Also Frances Hodgson Burnett's Little Princess is fantastic too.

I watched the anime series many times when I was younger.
I read it when I was in college, and reread it a few years later.
Overall good. Probably my favorite book by the author.
There's something about grumpy Mary that I can relate to.
Despite her sour face, she cares about her relatives more than her real parents (who abandoned her).
I haven't read any book similar to The Secret Garden, so I can say it's a unique story for me.

I loved reading “The secret garden.” Honestly, I was not expecting much from this book, as I picked up few classic books before but didn't enjoyed much. But this book turned out to be a awesome read for me. The story was short, sweet and encouraging. I'm planning to re-read this book again.

This is a wonderful story of how we as a society need to take care of things we love before it all goes bad but ya this is one of my favorite books out there

It is most definitely a classic. It was one of the first classic books that I read. It should be a book that everyone needs to read.

I loved the book as a child precisely because the heroine is so difficult (I believe she's called "contrary" by other characters, a la the nursery rhyme). She's had a hard life in some ways, having been deprived of love and affection, and she is lonely. Given that, it's not surprising that she is disagreeable and rude. I related to her very much as a child, and I took great comfort in the way she was able to find something beautiful to care for.
