Yes, generally during chronic stress our body releases the hormone called cortisol which results in us craving fatty and sugar-rich food. On a more general level, the reason why people go for junk food is especially because of lack of time. During times of stress due to say work junk food becomes the go-to factor and causes problems.

Yes, that is why the author believes stress management is a proper way to reduce it. If we can properly understand what changes in our daily life cause stress and our change in behavior it can help in reducing them.

Wow, that point on time is a hundred percent true. I also think proper time management is also a good way to avoid stress. Thank you for your input.

Time management and setting a proper routine in one's life can bring about self-confidence, and thus, decreasing chances of stress. I agree with Joseph on that note.

Some of the best advice in the book is to actually write down everything, as this will separate you and your feelings from each other. When you avoid thinking about a particular thought until later, it can cause even more stress. So writing down what you're feeling can help reduce it and give some words and meaning to those thoughts. This was the most important thing I learnt.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Writing down things help you pin-point the main problems that are bothering you. Also, concentrating on one word or having a 'mantra' can help when negative thoughts bombard your head; the mantra keeps your thoughts narrow and streamlined.

To iterate on the author's advice of writing down everything, I have used a daily journal to assess my days. It's a good way to see when you are not heading in the right direction. It also helps to remind you of your goals and the current position you are in.

Welcome. Proper time management should a part of our regular lifestyle. It should define who we are and it really helps you in the long run against mostly negative thoughts.

Yes, I too found maintaining a dairy is a great way to relieve the burden. Writing our feelings and emotions can be very satisfying and also helps us understand ourselves better.

I always went for a run for pure physical health issues, but never though how it could be good for the mind and release of stress. This was really insightful! Maybe because I'm always listening to music I counted the music alone for the calming part.

The power of being aware of where your stress/anxiety is truly coming from really spoke to me. When the author described the broke down car, dad missing a game, scenario, that really resonated with me. It’s deeper than a flat tire. Once you can come to the beginning of the root of your anxiety/ stress, you can heal and do the work. Being self aware and giving yourself the room to work on yourself is a great start.

The primary lesson for me was identifying the cause of stress. The breathing lessons were also helpful.

For me, what I learned is that although anxiety is quite common and inevitable, we can still find a way to help reduce it.

Obviuosly, I got to know about some symptoms of anxiety especially 'neck pain'. Before now, sometimes I see my body exhibiting some of these symptom without knowing its signs of stress and anxiety. Finally, I understand that my reaction to some certain things can help in preventing myself from entering into stress. I learnt that sometimes I need to work away.
