I had heard some things about cognitive behavioral therapy and anxiety before, but this book really helped expand on that knowledge. I've always been skeptical about taking OTC medication and the like, so I really enjoyed reading about the natural remedies and means for relaxation Dr. Kinrys suggested.

Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress goes into deep detail about the cause and effect of stress. I really admire the way this is written. The author goes to lengths to explain different treatment options for each person in a way that we can all understand. I give the book a clean 4 out of 4 rating because of the clear purpose and editing. I love the fact that this book is relatable to everyone because no one is completely stress-free (this year especially). I can see how some people may be turned off by the more dull, informative tone but it is a pretty decent read at less than 200 pages.

My favorite feature of the book is the summary charts at the end and the grocery list. That makes it so practical and do-able.

I thought the book had some very good options for dealing with and understanding anxiety, but as someone who struggles with the condition I do not know if natural remedies are a complete alternative. I think medication is still required at some times. I enjoyed the way the author approached the topic.

I gave it four out of four stars. As someone who has struggled with anxiety for years, I already knew a lot of the information. However, I did learn a few new things. The book is written in an easy to understand style and will be useful for people who are new to natural and alternative treatments for anxiety.

Honestly a book that tackles these issues head on is very impressive and should be applauded. It can lead to others following in its footsteps and continuing the conversation about mental health. It will help others not feel so alone in their anxiety and other ailments and overall create a community for them where they are accepted.
