I really loved this as an opening to the series. I rated it 4 out of 4 stars. I think one of the strongest parts was the way the characters were written. I loved reading about them.

I actually reviewed this book and two more of the We are Voulhire series, and I must say I loved them. The author really knows how to build up the plot and add drama and mystery to it. The characters are all equally unique and the dialogues in the book have a sense of witticism to it that I adored. A really good book for those looking to star reading a fantasy series.

Am I the only one who gave the first book 3 stars? Maybe I had very high expectations when I started reading it, but then I got bored a few times. Don't be angry guys. I didn't stop there. I gave the series another chance and I'm now on Book 3 :D :D :D
Upon reading Book 2, I finally realize the WHYs and HOWs. Thank goodness, I didn't give up on Galen and Matthew Tysz.

I gave this book a 4 out of 4 rating and I think it is well deserved. I really enjoyed reading the story and feared for the characters' safety as well. Could not really forget Rowan's charater. The only thing that I disliked was the lack of strong female characters in the plot.

I find Matthew Tysz is in general a great story teller. I read some of his other books as well and enjoyed them too. This one i gave a 3 because of the errors though, in the rest of the series I hardly found anything. I recommended this book already to a few people and will continue to do so. What I liked most is the different view points we get to see it all from and trying to figure out how they all connect.

I rated this book 4 out of 4 stars. The prefect rating is just and well-deserve! The plot is amazing and the writing style of the author is superb! I have not seen any negative reviews about this book, nor any books in this series. I just finished the 2nd installment and looking forward to reading the next ones.

This novel was an enjoyable read! What I liked most was the character development, Matthew Tysz's character development made it really easy to understand the characters and their most inner thoughts. What I disliked the most is the plot of this novel. I would recommend this book to readers :techie-studyinggray: that like to read about fantasy and magic. This novel deserves 4 out of 4 stars.

I gave it 3 out of 4 because I felt that it needed more action. I liked the characters, the plot was interesting, and it made me curious to read the next book. However, I felt like it was a slow start. Maybe Tysz didn't want to scare the reader with too much information, but I was ready for more :).

What I liked most on this book was the style used by the author, the author used suspense mostly, leaving his readers on suspense and this makes them to continue reading, this book deserves full rating.

I loved the book! Matthew Tysz's writing style is very descriptive and engaging. Even though this first book of the series serves more as an introduction, with the majority of the book spent on world-building and introducing new characters, I found it very interesting. The personalities of the main characters are flawed and believable, making it difficult to dislike even the ones who play the roles of the "bad guys". Since it is a part of the series, it is almost necessary to read the sequels to get a sense of closure. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good fantasy series!

I gave this book 3 out of 4 stars. I really enjoyed Eldus and his story with the foreboding presence of Meldorath. I did not enjoy Galen as the main character since he was a bit too grateful and didn't feel like a real person.

I have only read the first book and am eager to read the rest of the series because the story is just so fascinating. I admire the author's ability to grasp such a large theme; there are mages, lords, businessmen, kings, kingdoms, our world, the caromentis, and so on. I love that at the beginning of the book all these different points of views seemed so unrelated but as you dive into the adventure and the mystery unfolds in front of your eyes and you realise all these characters are actually a part of something so big and it all starts to make sense. My favourite part of the book was the author's description of Caromentis. It was like watching a movie. The author has a remarkable talent for making the readers understand a world of his own imagination. The thing that I disliked about the books is the slow pace with which the story goes. But it's understandable because it is the first book in the series and the author is just introducing us to the characters and the plot of the story. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading this book a lot and I will definitely recommend it to other readers.

I loved reading the book. It was interesting and I loved the writing style of the Author. I love this kind of books, and it didn't dissappoint. The thing I didn't like was that there wasn't enough magic, but overall it was captivating and fun to read. I rated the book, 4 out of 4 stars. I've already read the other books in the series, that is how much I loved the book.

I loved this book and rated it 4 out of 4. The fantasy world that was created was well laid out for the reader to see clearly. We learned backgrounds of many characters that all tied in well together.
I read book 2 right away. I highly recommend both
