Based on your excellent review, I have just added The Vanished by Pejay Bradley to my Want to Read shelf. If the book covers a bit of Korean History even better! I enjoy reading historical novels. Thank you for sharing.

There's actually a lot of Korean history here, particularly their response as a people to the Japanese occupation. Happy reading!

I am so enthralled by this that I want to dive into it right now. I love K-Drama and this novel based on history seems like the it book for me.

This looks like an interesting book. If it's based on korean history, it would be like a K-drama novel. The history lesson would be great as well.

I put this on my list based solely on the title, and a brief synopsis. I have always enjoyed the Asian culture. "Memoirs of a Geisha" was a fabulous well written tale. I think I will enjoy this read. Thank you for your review.

I am uncertaina how I feel about Asian culture because of the Pandemic. But your honest review shows the positives and negatives of the book, both that give me a chance to weigh my options. Great job!

The Vanished does sound like a novel I would enjoy. I see a couple of responses likened it to a k-drama in book form. Another reason for me to give it a try. I don't mind abrupt endings, although they may have me scratching my head, like others, but it does'nt put me off as much. I think the historical aspect about Korean history is also a plus for me.Thank you for your review.

It actually helped me learn and exploit new things.the book has interesting plot and portray the characters well.though I don't know much about Asian capture but the book relates to some of their ancient history.thank slot

This sounds like a great book to read. Thank you for such a detailed review. Have you read Min Jin Lee's Pachinko? Did you find any similarities? Both the books seem to have stories set at the time of Japanese invasion and eventual freedom from Japanese. The delicate relationship between Koreans and Japanese and stories span across many generations. I will be intrigued to know your view on how did it compare with Pachinko?
