Wow, this sounds like a really good book, albeit with the pacing and narrative issues. I'd love to see the author's take on this tumultuous period of Korean history, and I agree with you that Lady Sougyon's quote is absolutely memorable. Thanks for the review.

I love this review for its perfect length and, of course, its good quality. I appreciate the fact the you have mentioned the issues with POVs. I personally dislike changes in POVs because they confuse me a lot. Hence, this review will serve as a good guidance for readers like me. Thanks for this wonderful review

l'm actually left speechless at this plot. I would love to learn more about Korean history. The problems in the narrative might be annoying, but I will have to see for myself.

Thanks to the thorough review and a sample of the book I have a good idea of what to expect regarding some of the issues regarding the narrative. As I know little of Korean history I found the beginning of the story interesting and I believe I will enjoy learning about the various customs, as well as the historical events involving Korea, Japan and China and learning more about EmBon and how the events he experiences, friendships and family will impact his life.

A nice riveting historical novel "The Vanished" by Pejay Bradley, which takes us back in time when Koreans were known as the people without a nation. The story focuses on the life of Kim Embon and the socio-historical landscape of Korea. The book appears quite interesting to read.
