Losing a pet for two years can be traumatic and I'm sure it was for the author. I'm glad she was able to turn the situation around and pen a lovely book for kids to enjoy.

I'm personally not a cat person; I prefer dogs. Still, this story about the curious Shadow is inspiring for any one who reads it. Perhaps it'll cause pet owners to be more careful with their doors too.

This would be an excellent book for kids to help them grieve a lost pet. I remember when my black lab/greyhound puppy got out and was gone overnight and we were so scared. Thanks for the review!

I’m glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought there was a well presented pencil theme to the illustrations. I'm as curious as a cat about how on earth Shadow found its way home after two years. Pun intended.

This book sounds interesting. I love cats too and I would definitely enjoy such a book even though am not a kid. Great review! I hope shadow returns home.
