Re: Your Pet's Name
Tralala: Don't leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You're the only one with enough creative instincts to play The Movie Title Game
with any skill level even vaguely approximating "adroit". Adroitness needs you and so DO I!! These Luddites
couldn't write a limerick if you spotted them the "Man from Nantucket" at the outset. I implore you, get over
to "The Movie Title Game" with all dispatch, and do do that voo doo that YOU do so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please.
Why not: Because crazy people don't think they're crazy.

A Sokoke (cat) named Imhotep (Egyptian name for a cat *thumbs up*)
A Tabby (cat) named Isabella (Named after my daughter's imaginary friend.. it's her cat)
A White Persian (cat) named Buffy (After Buffy the vampire slayer)
The weirdest/longest named animal I ever had was a black/white tuxedo cat who's name was: JBJRQPLLOD or Joker-Bobby-Joe-Roderigo-Quad-Pod-Liam-Little-One-Davenport . We couldn't decide what to name him, so we just kept adding more names.

Candy: our family's first official pet. She is a
Small white poodle. Candy is also very sweet
cuddly.
Frijolin (brown and white chihuahua)
Named after his paws which look like Pinto beans
Chester: small poodle. We chose his name by picking
A paper out of a hat. The name suits him. Chester is
Playful and loving.
3 cats
Pippin: Fuzzy cream-colored kitten. He had darker ears and
Tail. He got his name because of his antics which were similar
To Pippin from the LTR trilogy.
Pumpkin: tiny calico kitten. We named her after her orange patches
Of fur. She's very sweet and playful. She enjoys cuddling and has very
Sharp claws.
Tiger: Attantion-loving young cat. He is gray a gray tabby with peculiar stripes.
We found and adopted him after the fireworks show on the Fourth of July. He loves
Attention and food.

Her kids, Honey and Nicki,***** ( my daughter's 2 cats...)
Harry, my husband's cat ( who resembled a stockbroker )
NYC cat...
Rocky and Roxy, ( the twins ) both black and white Tuxedo cats...( my husband was so enamored of " Roxy " that i'd always ask him : " if the 3 of us were in a boat and it capsized, who would you save first, me or ROXY? "...

Bernie, an all black cat who was one of the original descendants of Ernest Hemingway's cats in his house in Key west...
It is now a museum open to the public...after our visit " Bernie " followed us out to our car and wouldn't leave...
the rest is history

Dancer, my husband found him as an infant on a deserted country road in N.C....he subsequently died of a " broken heart " a few weeks after my husband's death...he just stopped eating, the vet said it was not all that uncommon...
Two doggies were part of our family / menagerie...Beau, a mix of a few different breeds, and Roy, an Airedale...
***** Nicki disappeared shortly after our move from Florida to N.C...we got a call from our old Florida neighbor telling us that Nicki was right there by her kitchen side door...( we'd feed each others pets when vacationing )...
It's a trip of hundreds of miles away...i'd always hear about these stories, but never believed it, I'M STILL ASTOUNDED !
The family joke was that " he missed the swimming pool "...
oh, how can i forget!...... our 2 twin grey cats, Miles and Giles ( cause they looked like " sophisticated " Brits...)
My husband was in the midst of writing a book about our " fur family "...........he never got to finish, i told him it was better than Cleveland Amory...
It was all a long time ago, another " place ", another life... what memories i have!
Carpe Diem!

Suzi, from what I understand then you don't have any companion critters now? Might I suggest having one again? For as much as I complain about walking in the house and everything is chirping to be fed...they fill an empty nest and then some...oy, if I knew how great dogs were I would have had them instead of the human kidz...
What? you just found out that pets are better than kids ?............haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, no contest!

As my husband used to say : " At least our pets never call home COLLECT "

Carpe Diem!

My current Robo hammy is named Barnaby Owl, a play on words with "Barn Owl" since the fur coloring and placement on his face are similar to a Barn Owl's appearance. He's adorable.
