I like historical fiction. However, I am not ready for Covid 19 themed story. While we are still battling with the pandemic, I am not ready to read about it. On that note is there another timeline in the story? I don't consider year old story historical fiction. But it seems this family went through a lot. It is a very relatable premise. Yes, this book is touching and interesting using the true events as a background, pandemic of covid-19 and chaos due to the killing of George Floyd by police officer. I think the author tried to discribe how difficult the situation and conditions for Lou's familly were at that time. With your excellent review, this book is more appealing. Thanks to you.

The book is named home again 2020. With 2020 our lives are changed. So when I hear 2020 I hear corona. I was expecting something else from this book. But still it sounds like an interesting story. Thanks for this review.

When I was reading the first few paragraphs of your review I thought this book was a memoir. Idk, maybe I might have missed that you said it was fiction. Anyways, it's nice to see a review about a book that was just recently published. I liked that it covered Covid19 and George Floyd which and who have made a global impact, and I think they should be included in fiction stories because they happened and they're already part of history.
