I have never read a book similar to this one. I like the story because it is unique. Yonatan is defending his new country with everything he has, but will he succeed? What will it take?

The novel's premise is intriguing and offers food for thought about the situation in Israel and Palestine with the possible consequences of a merger between the two countries. Thank you for your great review!

Thank you for your review. I appreciate writers that can evoke a lot of emotion. I feel that without a place you can call home you’ll be lost. A lot of my mental health revolves around having a place to call “home”.

It sounds touching, although I'm not interested in its subject. Congrats on winning Book of The Day.

This other fiction genre has some interesting contemporary lifestyle of people weaved into it. Underneath the surface is the most important aspect of modernity, the bewildering exploration of individual freedom. The book and its review are written very well. Congratulations on the BOTD!

This does sound like an intriguing story! My problem would be with the profanity. To me it takes away from the story. Thank you for the wonderful review!

I like the fact the fictional book uses creativity to reveal a different world where Israel and Palestine is one country. The involvement of geopolitics makes this book intriguing.

I like the hopefulness of the story. It seems idealist and comforting read. Sorry, but I find it hard to believe that someone doesn't know what wtf means.

Seems very fascinating, but books with plots centered on politics isn't my cup of tea. Nonetheless, congrats on BOTD!

While the book seems to be well-written, and discusses themes of political drama, love, hopelessness and pain, the narrative does not speak to me. Thanks for the good review on this book.

I was captivated by White Smoke, as the storyline was fascinating and relatable. I live in a country with similar descriptions as Isratine. Therefore, reading about something similar was intriguing. That was only a part of what had me captivated. While reading, I could feel emotions pouring from practically every sentence. Take, for instance, this sentence quoted from the book. "Amal had a home. Beyond it was only emptiness." From the quoted sentence, I got emotional thinking that the only thing the character felt connected to was just a home. Imagine if it were taken from her, her world would be empty. The events played out like a movie as I read through the book's pages. It would suffice to say that descriptive writing is the author's forte.
What an amazing use of language! No wonder you got so invested in this story!
One trivial issue I had with the book was the use of abbreviations without explanations. Take, for instance, this sentence: "I was a single, bisexual playboy at heart, who had somehow become married to another man and was now a father of twins. WTF!!." I supposed the author thought it's a sentence that anyone would easily understand in today's world of social media, where most sentences are abbreviated. But not every reader follows social media trends and wouldn't know what WTF means. I wouldn't also assume the author wasn't trying to sound profane, as there were other profane words in the read. I wouldn't be deducting a point for this. However, I'd hope the author takes note of it for subsequent publications.
I've seen this in other books and it's a pet peeve of mine. Profanity doesn't stop being profanity just because it's abbreviated. Most of us know what WTF, for example, means, and using the abbreviation just looks childish. I hope the author fixes this because the book seems very promising.

Thank you for such an analytical review.
