While I do think the attraction is there and clear; I do not think think that is the same as romance. in fact, I think the argument can be made that the attraction, and circumstance, leads them to force a relationship.

This book was well-written, and I think the relationship between the master's son, James, and the slave, Lily, was not forced neither was it inappropriate. I think I loved the way they related with each other unconventionally.

I definately do not think their relationship was forced , but I also did not get the feeling of James being sincere. I sort of felt like James had a selfish side to him which made me ask a lot of questions throughout the book

I think love knows no stranger. Love knows no barriers. Love is perfect. Love is passion & heat.

Given the genre, I'd say the book met my expectations. At the very least, I sense a spark between them, but I'm dubious about James' affections for Lily. Although I do not feel it was coerced, one thing is certain: love knows no boundaries, and there should be no such thing as a standard romantic relationship.

I think the prospect of a great relationship will turn heavily on the sincerity of the feelings holding them together now. Along the dark roads of time we gather that whenever love exerted a sweeping control, none submitted more than the mind.

I think James' love for Lily was an interesting one. I do understand that it may have seemed fake at some point. However, I like to think of it as him doing what he had to do; but to me, there was nothing about their relationship that felt forced or inappropriate. Let's see what happens though.

I am a bit unsure about this one. I enjoyed the romance and chemistry between the two and the fact that they knew each other since they were young, but something was lacking. I could not feel the smooth flow in their relationship and at some points it just felt unjustified. I think that the portrayal of their relationship could have been done in a much better way by the author.

The author had an awesome idea of what their love story should be like but the execution seemed forced and unrealistic.

In my opinion, the fact that they started as friends seems the love they shared is sincere. However, I am afraid James could be influenced to betray the beautiful love they shared with time.

I feel they had genuine feelings for each other. They knew each other from way back, from childhood to be precise. They had a good understanding of each other. Reading through the story, I could sense they really felt deeply for each other. It just wasn't portrayed well enough.

Although the book spelled out the attraction between James and Lily. I do not think the attraction may be enough to sustain a romantic relationship between the two.

I don't think thebrelationship between James and Lilyis forced. I think there is a natural love between the two and there a bit of passion. Love and passion is what makes relationships stronger.

James and Lily had a natural attraction to each other in my opinion. They chose to be in a relationship that society would not approve of. That is definitely not a forced thing.
