1. How do you spend your time when you aren't writing?
I spend my time pumping iron; I am into fitness.
2. Let's talk about your book My "Enemy" in Vietnam. Why did you decide to turn your experiences into a novel?
I wrote the novel because I was asked by many people to write it. A lot of lies were told about Vietnam, and I wanted to tell the truth.
3. How difficult was the writing process for you?
It was not difficult at all; I just sat down at my desktop PC and wrote the manuscript.
4. It was written to expose issues that most of us don't know about from Vietnam. Can you give us a preview?
Race was never addressed because there were racial issues in this country that were not being addressed. Race was an issue the system tried to ignore. They went into "panic mode" doing the bombing of only white bars; no black bar was ever bombed.
5. Why do you think it's important to remember these events?
Vietnam is a part of history, no question about it.
6. Any further book plans? Any upcoming promotional trips?
I have no plans for another book. I am being contacted by people who want to make the book into a screenplay, movie, television show, or mini-series for television.
I like to end with some fun questions.
7. What's your favorite meal?
I was born in Pensacola Florida; my favorite meal is seafood, shrimp, crab, lobster, and pan-fried fish.
8. How do you relax?
I relax by running; I like to get the runner's "high".
10. What's your best happy memory?
My happy moments were too numerous to count; however, it was the connection I had with the people when they found that I spoke Vietnamese. Everyone had questions about America. They think that we still have cowboys and Indians. I told them I was a "pony express" rider and how the Indians would chase me.
11. Who's been the biggest influence in your life?
My Dearest Mom is my hero.
