This book, with its insight into ancient northern cultures and the strong focus on traditions, seems well worth the read. I love reading adventure books. The well-developed cast of characters coupled with the captivating plot will certainly fit the bill for an unforgettable reading experience. Congrats on the BOTD selection!

As the book is part of a series, I would prefer to read them in order. The suspense and well-developed characters are big positives for me. Good review.

Interesting book to learn more about the indigenous people and the Bear Valley. However, I prefer to read the previous books first. I worry I'll miss the details here because I lack the background from the prequels. Congratulations on the BOTD.

In Totem by Charlie all roads lead to Bear Valley in one way or the other. Characters find their way there for some reason. It seems that there is a huge secret to be uncovered. This is the third book in the series of Strong Heart about the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest.

Thank you for sharing your reviews with us. It doesn’t surprise me that this book made it to book of the day. Charlie Sheldon has proved himself to be a formidable author with the Strong Heart series and I look forward to adding this 3rd book to my reading list.

The review was detailed and in-depth. The reviewer, without revealing too much, piqued my interest in the book, though I by no means am a young adult reader. The reviewer has highlighted both the positive and negative aspects of the book in a very candid manner and the flow of the review is excellent.

The author weaves the past and the present to narrate a captivating tale about the indigenous people of the Pacific North West. This is the third book in the Strong Heart series and readers who have read previous books will like how the story turns out.

The author mixes dialogue and vivid description to take the reader to a world of history. The use of mythology by Myra as she explains their culture to Sarah. She adds fantasy through the relationship of the female whale killer and bear.
The story of Carl also portrays emerging issues as he explains how he lost his job and faced divorce. This caused his resettlement but found peace and a rebirth to what he loved most- being close to nature especially studying the elks.
