The author surely did thorough research on ancient history and Pacific Northwest of the USA. This novel is very informative and broaden my history knowledge in a fun way. The descriptive (narrative part) is not boring. I also liked the novel's characterization. Each of them has distinct personality and unique way of thinking.
The only negative aspect is a little bit sluggish at the start, when we are introduced to each characters. But the suspense becomes more prominent afterwards.

Absolutely agree!
I really enjoy the educational component that can be seen in the Totem, actually, throughout the whole Strong Heart. I wouldn't say it's the best ever way for children (school students) to gain explicit historical knowledge through the book, still, Totem is great for gaining initially interest in indigenous people culture and for developing a passion for nature in its untouched form.

I read the first book in this series and have plans for the second. The third book could have been a 4 out of 4 for me, but I have to give it 2 out of 4 stars. It was almost the same book. I don't mean that plot was the same, though it didn't change that much. I mean there was no character growth, the mining corporation is still cliché and paper-thin as a 'villain'. While the settings were beautifully written, as is characteristic of the author, that was about it. All the side characters could have been condensed into one and it wouldn't have matter. Sarah carried the whole book.

I'm a fan of mystery and adventure, and I must say that the author paid detailed attention to the development of the characters.
I admire the character of Sarah and also how the author managed to educate and the same time expose the cultural differences.

I recommend the book to people who love mystery and adventure.

When I saw that there was a Strong Heart #3, I was happy. I liked the first two, and now I am on to the third. I can't wait. Each book is better than the previous. Not to raise the bar too high, but I am ready to delve into the conclusion of the series. I have a way to go, but so far so good!

Through the pages, the book appeared to be intriguing, and the review seemed to be as so. I'm almost halfway through book one and very enjoying myself. Excellent grammar and editing. The theme was a work of art in and of itself.

Charlie Sheldon's writing style and narrative pacing appealed to me. In the suspenseful moments of their endeavor to find answers in Bear Valley, I empathized with the characters and felt their strain. There was nothing about this book that I didn't like. Sarah Cooley, a 14-year-old girl, was brilliantly represented.

The book fits well in chronicled fiction. The utilization of flashback by Myra to disclose to Sarah how her kin's way of life caused her to understand her significance is astounding. Also the utilization of folklore to recounter her kin's experience gives anticipation to the peruser to continue to peruse.
The dream of how the female whale executioner and the bear experienced passionate feelings for to bring forth youngsters who bear the two attributes of the guardians is exceptionally inventive.
The creator additionally gives titles to the parts zeroing in on what or whom we experience. Utilization of tunes to transfer recollections and encounters by kids in the legend draws out the job of melodies in various societies.
I additionally like the utilization of discourse to give the work the conversational tone that makes setting genuine.
Nonetheless, as you fit in every part's occasions the consummation closes their and the following section takes you to an alternate situation for certain inquiries not addressed in the past section. This makes a few characters not to grow completely. I rate it 3 out of 4 stars.I appreciate that this book joins a ton of history in it. That way, the book fills numerous needs, including teaching the peruser and presenting him to the way of life of better places. I love the creator's sort; anticipation and thrill ride are constantly invited, particularly when done right. The writer's expressive ability is an or more likewise, as she rejuvenates each character and makes the peruser become a vital part of the book. Taking all things together, I believe it's a brilliant read.

I liked that there was a map at the beginning of the book, detailing bear valley. I have started reading the book and find it difficult to put it down! I am having some trouble with all the different characters, but that’s not enough to irritate me to put it down. I have not read the previous books, and I feel that I definitely should put the on my reading list! So far the book is a 4/4!

Charlie Sheldon's Totem (Strong Heart #3) is an amazing and engaging novel that rate it 4 out of stars. The reason behind this rating is how the storyline is interesting, action-packed and flowing. I liked how the author provided extensive descriptions of the events in this thought-provoking book. The writing style is superb! The use of dialogues made it more appealing and gripping. There's nothing I didn't like about the book. This is a nice book that I would suggest to the readers who enjoy historical fiction novels. They'll enjoy this suspenseful book.

I read this book, as well as the other two books of the series. The writing is clear and captivating, the plot is not rushed and well-thought-out. I truly enjoyed this series: by the way Sheldon treats the Natives' culture it is clear that he has studied the subject with first-hand experience.
I would recommend this book, and I would rate the series 4 out of 4 stars.

I particularly want to mention the character Mrs Victoria, Jared's mother and her not-so-conspicuous role in the plot. The workings of her mind often craftily injected into the plot by the author. This forms a small but useful component of the book's overall seemless flow. How the author outlines her thought flow whenever she is upset during a phone conversation with her husband. Or whenever Jared and Conner engage in one of their mischief adventures; the thoughts that briefly crease through her mind and the mindless motherly rebuke to Jared that ensues. Such amusing scenes add a touch of comedy to the thrill every once in a while.
An impressive work so far.

My initial take on the book was already influenced by the name Sheldon, as that name has popularity with a series of novel, but the content focuses on cultural affiliation and it's relevance to young individuals, the inclusion of mystery, history and culture makes for an interesting read altogether

Just starting to read this book and I'm already in love. The manner in which the book is written is very nice, it's easy to bond with each character. It has a lot of history in it too, I'm not really into historical fiction but the book is nice so far. I might even check out the Author's first two books. So far I'll rate the book four out of four stars
