What a sad life Lilly has to cope and live with. This is such an emotional work. Thanks for the review.

I now have to definitely read this book. The review to me was as if was reading the book itself. Lily had a sad life like many of us females. But at least she has the opportunity to.make things right.

This sounds like a very emotionally charged book. You've done an excellent job in summarizing it just so it captures the fancy with its plot but spoils nothing, leaving much to the imagination. I'm a bit of a softie when it comes to stories that explore tragedies, but this one piques my curiousity, so it's definitely near the top of my list for whenever I get in the mood for some masochism!

I enjoy books with well-developed characters that I can connect to. Lilly sounds like a wonderful character that didn't get held back by misfortune. Christian fiction gives me hope that she evolves in her faith as well. Great review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting romance novel set in 1940s Colorado and following Lilly Perkins, young, recently widowed woman, as she tries to recover from the losses in her life as she pursues new love. While it might not be for everyone, it might be worth a second look. Well done.

The main concept tackled by this novel is forced arranged marriage and unrequited love. Readers who have undergone similar circumstances may want to give this book a try. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

It seems like a mystery and romance story that examines the views of 1940s society on women. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

This seems to be an intriguing story. It certainly addresses issues that can be difficult, but some are still happening today. It's good to know that the author did some good character development. However, the premise of this book doesn't hold my attention so I'll pass. Thank you for this thorough review.

Thanks for your review. Lilly's life sounds quite distressful with her loss and her abusive husband, but it's good to know that she has gained her freedom and lived her life as she wanted to.
