There is a strong bond between a mother and her child. It has a way of affecting the child's life, either in a good or bad way. The Sun's Love by Orion M. Hawke is a book that talks about the quest of a girl to prove her worth and gain acceptance. It explores themes of revenge, love, and betrayal.

The novel revolves around a lady called Crenepo, which means girl. Her lack of a proper name was due to her mother's hatred towards her father. Right from her birth, she was deprived of the love of a family, most especially her mother. This led to her running away from the home-filled thoughts of achieving her mother's greatest desire, to kill her father. The journey led to her encounter with Mason, who named her Karahkwa, which meant sun. She faced several ordeals while embarking on her journey, and her nightmares constantly haunted her. Will she find that which she so desires? What will be the outcome of her journey? Read this book to find out more.

From the beginning of the book, I was captivated by the author's technique of creating a balance between the past, present, and inner thoughts. The use of italics to represent the inner thoughts and flashbacks of the characters is something I find unique. This has helped me gain a deeper understanding of the characters. I could only comprehend the reason behind Karahkwa's reckless actions through this technique. Another thing I loved from the book was the description method employed in the book. Whenever any character was involved in a battle, the pain associated with every injury felt natural, and in some cases, I could not help but wince.

The book's title is also something to like. It depicts several interpretations. It speaks volumes of what the book contains. I was also intrigued by Karahkwa's character. Despite her solid and tough demeanor, the author reveals the soft nature underneath. Karahkwa had a journal in which she frequently wrote out her feelings. It portrayed the gentle aspect that was buried underneath the violence and rage she exhibited.

There is nothing I dislike about this book. The book was professionally written. There were a few grammatical and punctuation errors. Therefore, I rate The Sun's Love 3 out of 4 stars.

In conclusion, I recommend this book to people who strive to fit in wherever they find themselves. The book sheds light on defining one's worth. The book will serve the purpose of enlightening individuals on what it takes to stand firm on a decision.

There are valuable lessons to learn from this book. I hope that at the end of it all, Crenepo, or Karahkwa as Mason would call her, finds her worth and knows that she is enough. Thanks for the review.

This plot strikes a chord within me. Mother-daughter relationships can be so complicated sometimes. Great review for what looks like a moving story

An unsatisfying upbringing and the innate desire for murder of a parent due to the perceived feeling of hatred.....I wonder how and what crenepo will feel when or if she actually carries out the deed.... very interesting review...the book will be very interesting
