Well, there's definitely more to Toby than meets the eye. Something about what we're supposed to "know" about her and her history/family doesn't fit (for me).

Also, pay extra attention to Marcia. :no-spoil: :shifty:
Pronouns: She/Her

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.

I've started A Red-Rose Chain and am already through the sixth chapter. (This is very different from when I was in slump-land!)

Marcia? Hmm, I will do that. :)

I am about to start chapter three, but I will catch up with you. I liked the section about the wild dogs.

@Gravy, where are you in the book? I am about to finish it. Once I started reading, I just couldn't stop.

Have you reached the section about Walther's past?

I've just reached chapter 19 (she just identified the rose from Eira's magical signature).

I love Walther! That is one of my favorite parts.♥️

He is definitely one of my favorite characters. I also feel fairly safe that he'll be okay (not die, not turn/be bad) because McGuire is very cautious/careful of her portrayal of trans people. If she were going to make him bad/kill him off, we'd have at least two other trans characters, I'd think.

I finished the book (I actually finished two books: yay for not sleeping? :lol2: ), and plan on starting the next soon. However, I do have another book that I'll have to get read fairly quickly, so I won't be in any hurry.

I love that Toby just creates havoc wherever she goes! I'm really curious about the "queen's" name now. :eusa-think:

Great! I am glad to hear Walther will be ok. He is a great character! :)

Tell me when you start the next one, and I will start it as well.

Indeed! Toby rocks!

I'm starting the next book. :tiphat:

(Just a warning: I will either fly through the book, or be really slow; there's some extra stressful stuff going on, so I can't really predict. :handgestures-thumbdown: )

I will probably start it tomorrow, after finishing my current book. :)

No worries! I hope all will work out for you. :handgestures-fingerscrossed:

Once Broken Faith (October Daye #10)

@Gravy, where are you in the book? I am halfway through and enjoy it very much. This series does keep getting better and better with each new book!

Spoilers:

A murder is a nice change from the kidnapping of kids in her previous works. I wonder what are the Luidaeg's plans for Toby in respect to the Selkies.

Toby does hold a grudge! I hope she and Sylvester will resolve their issues. Their alienation is tiring.

Unfortunately, I'm only a few chapters in (had some trouble actually starting it). Once I got through the first chapter it's been easier, though.

I'm currently at the part where Toby's talking to the High King and Queen. :tiphat:

No rush! :)

I actually liked the slow beginning (quite a change). The slumber party was cool. :)
