Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess, was a very well-written book. This action-packed novel was both interesting and engaging. I found the storyline to be creative, and I enjoyed the adventure. I felt that the characters were well-developed, and I especially appreciated Brandy’s strong female lead. There was nothing about this book to dislike, as it was a fast-paced story. I recommend this book to adults who enjoy adventure, romance, and historical fiction novels, especially about pirates. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I liked the cover as well and thought it suited the story.

I would rate this novel four out of four stars. It was a lovely read. It is definitely an interesting take on how things could have been in the period when slavery was rampant and there was unrest. It also brought in other countries going through similar things and tied them all together. Also, the blend of history, action and emotional scenes was delightful to read. :techie-studyinggray:

What I loved the most about the book was how Dan Hendrickson perfectly combined stories from the historical past and romance. Also, I loved that it was an exceptionally edited book.

This book is one book that I can read more than
once. The book draws on love, duty, passion, and trust. What might seem like an unlikely pair in this novel is later the force that seems to right the wrongs on the sea. An interesting read indeed.

I think I'd give this book a 4. The wartime theme fascinates me and I love reading how soldiers hold up in the battle field. It has quite some amazing and crucial themes like racism, collateral damage, and soldier-civilian relationships.

This book deserves a 4-star rating. It has romance, and adventure, it tells a pirate story, is a historical work. I love that it follows Brandy, in a world so full of danger, abuse and what can be considered a "men's world", I think that Brandy is a powerful character.

The best part of this book was the character growth/transformation of Brandy. I loved the interaction between Brandy and Zhang as he helped her to overcome the imbalance or rage in her life. As she learned this balance it allowed her to fulfill her purpose, open her heart to love, and succeed. However, there were some slow sections in this book that made it a more cumbersome read than I would have expected. Still, overall I enjoyed the story and would give it three out of four stars. I noticed quite a few minor errors throughout the book, including missing punctuation, misused semicolons, and even Brandy’s name was missing a letter in chapter 15.

From the cover of the book to the unconventional love between Brandy and John Edwards, the plotline had been set to deliver to readers a romantic thriller from which there would be no awakening. This book talks about romance, about pirates, about betrayal, and most importantly, about unconditional love. The writing style drew me in so deep I could hardly extricate myself; and took me for an adventurous ride around the Carribean freeing slaves, and watching love take place. This book may have been an historical fiction, but to me, it was all real. A 4 out of 4 stars to this book; or as I like to call it, a journey in a book.
