This is a historical fiction thriller filled with action, drama, romance, and adventure. The story follows the life of Brandy, the daughter of pirates. I love the plotline and the author's creativity in how Brandy must re-write her life, whether to live on land or take revenge and take back her legacy, her parent's ship.
I would rate this novel four out of four stars as the author shows great detail in the plot and characters, and the writing style was easy to follow and stayed consistent with the genre. I loved the pirates' broken language and Brandy's bold and robust personality. The cover art was eye-catching and showed a glimpse of this novel's expectations.
I would recommend this novel to anyone that loves action, adventure, and romance thrillers.

Brandy, Ballad of a pirate princess is an interesting book about brandy (and her uncle) who escaped her father’s ship after he was betrayed by his second mate and his ship was captured. My favorite thing about this book was how it kept reminding me of Pirates of the Caribbean. This is also why I chose this book for review. But aside from that, I wasn’t disappointed with the book. The characterization was good and the atmosphere was lively in my opinion. The fight scenes were also entertaining. Overall, it is a good read and was worth my time. I can’t remember every detail about this book as I read it long ago but I think I rated it 3 out of 4 stars, and I’ve not changed my mind about that rating.

I would rate Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess by Dan E. Hendrickson 4 out of 4 stars for its portrayal of Brandy as a character. She is very strong and is not afraid of her enemies. This book is also a wonderfully written historical fiction book. Its contents of slavery and pirates definitely make it more interesting. I do not think that there is any part in this book that I disliked.

I loved that Hendrickson was creative and diverse with the characters. I loved the style in which he used to write by incorporating nicknames for characters and objects. I also appreciated the setting which was historical fiction with romance. I would definitely recommend this book to friends because there is nothing I disliked about it.

This story was a pretty enjoyable read in my eyes. I love how Brandy's character got developed over time, as well as how she took control of her life and developed a relationship with John. The topics of God and the illegal practices of slavery were very intriguing to read about as well and helped add depth to the novel.

What really stood out to me about this book was that it was so unlike most of the other books about pirates and their lifestyle. Whether it's the character depth, raw emotions and the overall storyline, it deserves the 4 star rating I give it.
