Brandy almost gave up and forgot her roots due to how horrible they were. But she stood up and faced her life. This is what I learned.

I learnt resilience from Brandy's uncle example. His loyalty and care for Brandy was heartwarming.

One important thing I learned is to never give up, no matter what, also to be strong in the face of adversities.

The book taught me a great lesson about the choices we make in life. Life isn't meant to be about reacting to your challenges and problems in life but rather taking action according to what you desire.

One lesson that can be taken from this book is that perseverance is key. Brandy never gave up when things got rough.

Reading this great book taught me a lot of things, like how we don't always get what we want and how it is up to me to stay strong and fight my way through whatever life throws at me.

I love seeing strong female characters in books. Brandy is strong, always keen to achieve her goals. Female readers have a lot to learn from her.

I learned that no matter the challenge, giving up is not an option, in any situation you should find a way and encourage yourself. Brandy was a perfect example

Like others have said: determination. Both in overcoming obstacles to what you want and in making sure you become the *you* you want to be, without losing yourself in the process.

Betrayal by those who you trust. There are a lot of betrayal in the goings-on in the Sea.

I also learnt that even though we may struggle to live a normal life, our past will still haunt us like it did Brandy.

This is basically what we all need to survive in the harsh realities of the world, no one knows what life would throw at you but it is up to fight your way out to see the better days ahead. It was a good lesson the story portrayed.
