Owuamanam wrote: 01 Jun 2022, 10:46 I feel the story of Kaarina and Monty is similar to the story of most individuals who face racism. They are persecuted for something that was not their fault. They were born abnormal and with special abilities. They didn't choose to be born with a special gift. However, they have to face the consequences of being born that way. Relatively, I feel one of the themes in the book is racism. Those who were normal felt threatened and hunted the abnormal. What other themes could you identify from the book?
It is sad that the human species are very prone to doing just this, as it is represented in the book. I mean, no one should be discriminated for something they have absolutely no control over.

The book focusses on themes of racism and social discrimination at large. These are terrible social norms plaguing our society and destroying the social milieu since a long time. By oppressing a particular community, people expose their own vulnerabilities and hamper the progress of the world.

It is a recurring theme, people generally reject and are scared of what is different from them. Whether it is race, religion and here genetic mutations. Other themes include survival, family, humanity(or lack of), perseverance, beliefs...

Racism is the main theme of the book, but there are other strong themes, such as kindness, patience, and perseverance.

The story of the protagonists feels familiar. Their story is that of everyone who faces racism. I have experienced racism during the pandemic; the story hits close to home. They were born abnormal, something that was not their fault. They had to face the consequences of something out of their control. Hence, I feel like racism is a theme in the book.

The most evident theme in this book was determination because that is what kept them going even when things were tough.
The other theme present was racism. A major problem that a lot of people face in today's world.
Other themes included perseverance, war, and revenge.

The book mainly focuses on racism and discrimination. Although many people condemn racism, many others are still suffering from it.

There were a lot 9f the themes discussed in this book. For instance, the themes of vengeance, kindness, boldness, confidence, determination, perseverance and a lot more others. I learned a lot about each of these themes from this book.

Perseverance was a strong theme I saw throughout the book. No matter what you face, you just have to keep going and push through.
