A meaningful poetry book "The Residue of Our Desires" by Darcy Green, which spans various themes such as relationships, capitalism, animal cruelty, earth’s exploitation, politicians, and war. I like such poetry books.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

The sayings in between acted as a breather because this book contains more than 60 poems. The quote, “If I could divide mankind into two categories, it would be bees and flies. We know what bees attract to and we certainly know what flies attract to,” made me chuckle for a long time. Since there were a lot of poems, I took a long time to savor this book. But it is possible to read this book in one sitting.
That's both funny and wise. I get what you mean. I'm an introvert, too. Probably most of us here at OBC are. I rarely read poetry but this anthology seems like it has some relatable topics, and I especially applaud that the author considers the environment.
Thank you for your review!

I am picky when it comes to poetry, but the blurb got my attention with the mention of "confrontational poems." I liked the first piece I read from the book. I also like that the poet is named Darcy. The title tickles my fancy too. I'm glad this book is free.

Hello! A fellow introvert here! I agree with your statement that it's hard to have meaningful conversations with people because they do not have the same interests as you, always, but there will be books that will speak with you clearer than any person could in this world. I like poetry books that are not focused on one subject matter, I prefer poetry books that will span different issues like women empowerment, romantic love, and many other things.

I definitely would like to give this book a chance, and I think I would read this one soon! Thank you so much for the wonderful review!

I like that the book includes conversation-style poems. It is commendable that Darcy Green mentioned in her poems a wide variety of topics from capitalism, death and ego, through parenting, atheism and politicians.

Sadly, I don't like poetry as genre at all, mostly because with my current English level it's kind of hard to appreciate it fully. Therefore, unfortunately, you will have to excuse me and don't feel offended, since I will have to pass this book. Apologies and still congrats on BOTD!

Poetry is not my cuo pf tea but the review is very enthusiastic. The author covers both personal and societal issues so anyone can find something that will interest him/her as the topics mentions in these poems are diverse: relationships, capitalism, death, animal cruelty, earth’s exploitation, politicians, war, ego, God, atheism, our monkey mind, parenting, hope etc. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I’m definitely not one for poetry and did struggle even with the excerpt for this book (not a reflection of the book, just my likes and dislikes). The poems cover a range of societal topics which are very relevant.

I also loved the different sayings inserted in between the poems. I have saved this: "We eat because we have to, we sleep because we have to, but everything else we do involves choices. So, why do we sometimes act as though there aren't any?"
