As someone who has spent over two decades working in huge organisations, I can tell you one man trying to make any sort of significant difference is absolutely futile. Ultimately, we are all just a number to these corporations, and - no matter how good you are at your job or how much you've contributed to the business - if you leave, they'll just find another number to take your place. I had two separate job roles at my previous employer which were made redundant despite the hundreds of employees and managers these decisions displaced. I don't want to sound bitter, but it's ultimately all about the dollar. Business decisions in giant corporations rarely consider the lives of real people and how they might be affected. One man trying to make changes from the inside is like being on Twitter: you're just screaming into the void.Victoria Ukamaka wrote: ↑10 Aug 2022, 05:15 Steve tried to do the right things and to make his colleagues do the right things at work. Or can a single person stop the corruption in such a huge organization?

I do not think that person should leave the system.
Can a single person stop the corruption in such a huge organization?
Yes. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. That person can lay the foundation for a corruption-free organization and others will build on it in time.

Both are, in my opinion, perfectly valid choices. One has the right to protect his or her integrity. And that's fine, especially if you have, for example, kids who could be endangered. However, without people who risk their safety, so-called "whistleblowers" corrupt organizations would never change.Victoria Ukamaka wrote: ↑10 Aug 2022, 05:15 Steve tried to do the right things and to make his colleagues do the right things at work.
