The world is still like that. Or even more...sexually free, so to speak. But I didn't find them overused. I actually rated this one with a 3 in erotic content, because many details are left for the reader to fill in. I guess it depends on how the reader feels about sex. But I didn't think they were gratuitous, which is what usually bothers me when authors only use sex scenes for shock value.

Yes, I was bothered by the graphic adult scenes. Perhaps, the author was trying to paint of picture of a world back then.

It could have been written in general terms rather than in detail. But it is understandable as it depicts that era

In a weird way, they did not bother me. I think they were not that overused. You should really expand your reading repertoire.

It sounds like the past adult scenes in the Wild World was somehow aggressive. At some point I quitted as there was no reason knowing all that past experience

I don't think it was bad. I knew that the book needed such scenes to communicate a message to the world. Without those scenes, it would have looked fake considering the characters were all young.

Not at all. The book was well described and the sexual content was not too high to restrict my reading flow.

It really didn’t bother me. I have read books with worse scenes and overly detailed and frequent occurrence that now I just read through. Most times I just roll my eyes and scoff to remove the tension. It helps.

Of course, you have to know in detail. Sex scenes like that are needed to be included in a story like Wild World.

I wasn't really bothered by the adult scenes; it was the profane terms that disturbed my enjoyment of the book.

It didn't bother me one bit though. I felt the author was just trying to give a detailed example of how it happened back then.

Honestly, they did not. The story is about a college student, so all the adult scenes seem to fit in perfectly with the plot.

The story is not true about that—it's fiction. The world may have and may not have been like that in the 70s. However, I think the adult scenes portray the youthfulness in Steve and Roxy and the intensity of their relationship. Sex is used as a symbol of defiance against religion (Roxy's mother), and as an escape from the sad reality in the world. It is also used as a symbol to show that their relationship is slipping away.

The adult scenes didn't bother me. I only try to make meaning out of the text.

You mean the sex scenes? Hmm, I wouldn't say it's described too much in detail but definitely would recommend this for those in their late teens and above.
