Indeed it is very difficult for a single person to tackle corruption in a huge organization, infact it is almost impossible as a single person, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't continue doing what is right in your little corner, doing this even makes its possible.

In this book, I know that Steve tried his best and he won at last. He did not change the whole system, but at least, he made a difference. But how many people in reality with endure the hostility he met? How many people will keep looking for change as he did.

I think it's easier when this effort is carried out by a group of people. So, I say that one man cannot stop corruption in an organization. Except, of course, if that one man is the boss.

I'm too pessimistic to believe that one person can change an entire corrupt organization, but I do think it's worth trying in some situations. I believe our actions do matter and can make a difference, but I think widespread corruption like the book describes takes more than just one person to dismantle.
Exactly! In a large organization like that, one single person who is just a low ranking officer can do little. A system that corruption has eaten up to the top. It is near impossible for a single person to stop corruption in that organization.

The one's who always tend to compromise with their ethics and moral values always goes with the crowd. They will not do anything about this and slowly they will also indulge in these activities and become corrupted.
on the other hand a rebel will question the situation and choose the righteous path.
I strongly believe that it takes only 1 person to awake everyone and if everyone is awaken then anything can be achieved

I believe it is possible for a single person to stop corruption in an organization. It will definitely not be easy, but the fact that it is doable is something to smile about

Yes. It is possible that a single person can stop corruption. The problem is that it will definitely not happen instantaneously. So, Steve should not leave the organization.

I have had an experience trying to stop corruption in a system where corruption is endemic. The gist is that I failed woefully. Honestly, when the system is corrupt, it would swallow up an upright man.

I think after trying so hard with no success, he should just leave the system and try finding another way to effect the change he wants.
You are very correct. One person cannot stop corruption no matter how hard said person works and prays.

😂 I agree with the miracle part. That is just the sad reality.

I teach in a school where exams malpractice is the norm. I came into the system, spoke against it and tried to make a change. I was molested and shut down. I kept quiet and joined the chorus. No one man can stop corruption in a place where corruption is rooted.

I believe the efforts of one person can inspire others to do the right thing. I loved the fact that Steven kept fighting for the truth even though a lot of people were against him. I believe one man can be the inspiration that people need to do the right thing.

Steve's decision to join the police force was shortsighted, as evident by the way he struggled to reconcile his initial plans with juggling a highly demanding job. Even though the book makes it seem so, it's not possible for one man, let alone a newbie, to dismantle decades of corruption in one single sweep.

This is a very fascinating question. Personally, I don't think just one person can stop corruption in an organization. It would require a joint effort or at least a sugni6number of people with like minds to put an end to corruption.

I'd say a single person cannot. Corruption is a behavioural problem that takes on a systemic form. But the approach Rush presented through David Durk, the reform-minded New York cop, is a good way to limit it. Durk sought to expose corruption and build alliances with like-minded people to battle it.

Change can begin with one person. Yet, there's a limit to the change a person can make. But if the person can't be able to influence the people around him/her, then the change can spread. So one person can cause a revolution. Take Martin Lurther King for instance.
