I think it's easier when this effort is carried out by a group of people. So, I say that one man cannot stop corruption in an organization. Except, of course, if that one man is the boss.

Exactly! In a large organization like that, one single person who is just a low ranking officer can do little. A system that corruption has eaten up to the top. It is near impossible for a single person to stop corruption in that organization.Sarah J Callen wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:51 You raise such good questions that I was considering as I was reading. I'm too pessimistic to believe that one person can change an entire corrupt organization, but I do think it's worth trying in some situations. I believe our actions do matter and can make a difference, but I think widespread corruption like the book describes takes more than just one person to dismantle.

on the other hand a rebel will question the situation and choose the righteous path.
I strongly believe that it takes only 1 person to awake everyone and if everyone is awaken then anything can be achieved

You are very correct. One person cannot stop corruption no matter how hard said person works and prays.Soshell W wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 20:12 I honestly think that one person cannot stop corruption in an organization as big as the police force. In Steve's case especially, where he is just a low ranking officer, I do not think the one man squad would be effective. I think after trying so hard with no success, he should just leave the system and try finding another way to effect the change he wants.

Steve's decision to join the police force was shortsighted, as evident by the way he struggled to reconcile his initial plans with juggling a highly demanding job. Even though the book makes it seem so, it's not possible for one man, let alone a newbie, to dismantle decades of corruption in one single sweep.Victoria Ukamaka wrote: ↑10 Aug 2022, 05:15 Steve tried to do the right things and to make his colleagues do the right things at work. But he is a one-man-squad and his efforts are being frustrated. His life and job were even being threatened. In a case like this, do you think the person should just leave the system? Or can a single person stop the corruption in such a huge organization?
