I assume you mean the sexual content. Those are bound to offend somebody, no matter to what degree they are depicted because sexuality is shrouded in culture. In this book, we have young people in university. You would be amazed how much is centred on sex at that stage in life anywhere, let alone in a Western country, which the US is. So I'd say Wild World was restrained.

I do agree that to some extent, those scenes were overused (especially in a book about the relationship and kinship with God), but I feel that it was intended for the author to get up close and personal to show the process of healing in a raw way, if that makes sense.

They didn't bother me. To give a vivid picture of the situation of things back then, the author needed to go into so much details. Instead of being bothered by the adult scenes, I found them intriguing.

I have read a lot of books with adult scenes far worse than that in Wild World so I am not really bothered about it, although a few readers might be.

I was not bothered about the sex scenes, I found them strange, interesting but strange. It was detailed but without giving as much. I was not bothered by it at all.

The adult scenes definitely bothered me, I wished the author didn't have to give us so much details

The detailed adult scenes were too much and were a bit disturbing. I don't  it was appropriate enough to go into details.

At a point , I really thought going into details wasn't necessary at all. They are adults , I believe but sidetracking the main theme of the novel in wholesome details like that was not necessary.

I stick do not quite understand why some authors like writing adult scenes in books. I mean, you will probably be able to earn more if as a writer if your book is suitable for a wider audience. I find the adult scenes unnecessary.

Not really, I found it as a distraction from all the corruption, brutality, and other vices occuring simultaneously.

Not at all. It was well described. The adult scenes were moderate enough.

Not so much. I did expect it in a way so I can't complain. Also, the author must have seen it as vital to bring them in with such detail, possibly to make the scenes realer and much more enticing.

Personally, I wasn't really bothered by that. I think it actually added up to an accurate description of the world at the time.

It did not bother me, since to deliver an accurate depiction of history, you must incorporate all the things that concerns the life of the character that is included in the historical events. Although, I could say the book would just mean the same to me even without the adult scenes.

Yeah, it’s not only you. The adult scenes were quite much and bothersome. The intensity should have been mellowed a little bit.
