Pet Semetary by Stephen King. I've even read many other books by him, but that one just was not for me.

I have had about three attempts at "Moby Dick" but I always find another book before I finish it. Oh well one of these days. :D

I have to admit I had a difficult time with Frankenstien. It is often mentioned in the same "breath" as Bram Stoker's Dracula, even though they have no similarities. At any rate, it does have more enduring qualities than Dracula. However, in conception, Frankenstien was never intended for publication. It was a contribution to the amusement of house party in Switzerland on a dark and stormy night long before the advent of TV or radio. From 1816,(?) it is rather early in the techniques of English fiction, and I think that is why I labored with it.

I attempted it first in 8th grade and then again maybe 10 years later, but I could never get through Vanity Fair. It wasn't awful and I've finished worse reads but I just don't have it in me.

I really struggle to NOT complete a book. I have to carry on even if I really dislike it.
There are a few that I haven't got to grips with but they are more classics than anything else.

I started to read a collection of Charles Fort's books a while back, New Lands was pretty good, but the others are really hard to understand, youve got to read it very slowly to get anything out of them. Interesting, but time consuming.

I hated Love in the Time of Cholera and so finally ceased punishing myself and put it down. I know it recieved some amazing reviews, but frankly, I have no idea why. It was simply awful.
You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.

Although I really like books about witches and vampires, I never really finished "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane" by Katherine Howe. Although I really admire her writing style, specially how she describes the characters and the scene, at some point I'll just drop the book and read another one. I tried to read it from the very start a couple of times but I always fail to finish it.

I wonder what's wrong. :/

I have a lot of Stephen Kings paperback books, but I just can't seem to be able to finish one.
If I didn't write, I'd never sleep.

Not sure if it counts but I tried to re-read Anne Rice recently, but couldn't do it.

2312 by Kim Stanley. Not that it wasn't interesting, I just got off-tracked by another book and never got back to it.

Like others, I haven't made it through Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides.
I forced myself to get almost halfway through before I actually starting enjoying the book an laughing.
It has a pulitzer, I have talked to people who said it changed their perspectives and was a great book, and I've seen it on book lists, but I just wasn't feeling it. I haven't read other works by eugenides so I'm not sure if its the author or the book. Anyone have an opinion?

Also, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, but not by my accord!! My friend had it on his phone and after reading it to each other on a road trip we parted . I plan to finish it because the characters kick ass and the book is visually fun to read, humorous, and thought provoking.
