For years, I've been really into British Literature. Lately, I've been reading all Paranormal Romance. I have a thing for vampires

I like sci-fi and fantasy as a whole, but if I had to choose one particular genre that doesn't get enough time in the limelight and is delightful? Steampunk. Steampunk all the way.

It's hard to pick just one because I read pretty much anything I get my hands on. If I had to pick it would have to be paranormal, be it romance or whatever. That is what I always check first in a book store.

I do not enjoy sappy romance novels at all. But horror, and mysteries are my favourite.

Personally, my preferred reading genre tends to shift. What I look most of all for is good characters. If it has good characters and good realistic relationships I will pretty much read it. The books that really get my heart pumping though are really plot driven, have a little action, some romance and a sort of quirk that you don't normally find. I love originality which these days leads to sci-fi and dystopian novels. I love strong female characters and stories the stretch the bounds of sexuality and human thought. Also I'll always have a soft spot for fantasy novels or historical fiction

This is so difficult to pin down. It actually depends on the mood. I may read a book one day and if I like the style of writing or the genre by the author, I would continue to read other such books till I get bored.

A couple of years ago, I read The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho. I liked it so much. I don't ususally read such books. But, at that moment, I liked it so much that I went ahead and bought all books by the author. Today, they are collecting dust in my library. I can't read them.

But, crime and romance, I can pick them up any day. :)

I could go on and on but I'll read just about anything as long as there is a love story attached to it. I read lots of non fiction that doesn't need a romantic element but if I want to get lost in a book it must include a little romance.
Same here. I need that uplifting, cutesy aspect that romance brings to books, otherwise I need to force myself along through a book. Lucky for me, most books have some romantic element included.

My favorite genre is historical fiction. And there can be a bit of fantasy thrown in there too!

My preferred genre would be fantasy. I love anything that takes place in a world that doesn't exist, as it gives me the chance to escape to that world. However I am also a sucker for a good romance, so when those two genres overlap I'm hooked!
