Do You ever read Kindle books Online thru your browser?

Post by suzy1124 »

Yes, i do...there are certain situations that make this way of reading a book, ideal...it was much better than i thought it would be ( sort of like watching a film w/sub-titles, that began as an " annoyance " but then was very rapidly not even noticed )

no and the reason is that my eyes get tired a lot quicker, plus my reader is easier to read in bed or on my comfortable sofa!

I have never used my browser. It feels really awkward to me. I can't relax and sit the way I want.

I do, especially when I'm reading over lunch at work because it's a lot less obvious.

I wouldn't want to read on a kindle, I want to feel the book in my hand, smell the pages and fall asleep with the book in my hands.

I use my desktop when I am studying. My phones Kindle App when I am out of the house and my Kindle when I am at home. Sometimes I use all three at the same time if I am doing genealogy for referencing.

I have a few times - usually when my tablet isn't charged and for a while when I was working on getting a cracked screen replaced. I don't prefer it, my eyes get tired faster and there is a lot more distraction at my computer.

I've tried but I tend to get sore eyes and find it hard to sit comfortably!

I have a 15" monitor for my desktop, and really don't like reading on this screen. So I almost never read anything on here (prefer my phone), let alone eBooks.

I have read entire books on the browser. I have to admit that it is far from ideal. The format is all wrong. There is nothing like the feel of a book in your hand. E readers go above and beyond to try to duplicate that feeling and of course they will never be able to. The browser is an even further reach from that.
The only reason I have used my browser is 1. because my kindle was on the charger and I can't put the book down or 2. because I was at work and while I was staring at my screen I appeared to be working.
I actually can remember a few times where I Listened to the audio book on my way into work, then picked up the book on my browser at work, then listened again on my way home, and finished the book on my kindle at home. Those times it ended up costing me 3 times what it would have to just buy the Hardcover.

Wow, you can pretend to work while reading? I don't even have access to a computer at work.

I have but not that often, mostly it's been when I've forgotten to recharge my Kindle. It's OK for a short read but I don't think I could possibly read a full book online.
