I borrow a lot of books from the library, so they get returned. I only tend to buy and keep books that I really like and intend to reread. If I buy a book and don't think I'll read it again, I usually donate it.

Hug it tightly, shed a few tears, put it on a shelf. I may re-read it in the near future, of course.
I read, therefore I am.

I keep them, but depending on how good they are, I give away a few every Christmas.

I usually to donate them to folks homes, schools and libraries in rural areas who have limited access to books. I do occasionally give some to friends or sell them. I only keep books that I really like and suitable for my whole family to read.

My books pretty much always go up on the shelves. Now that I have enough shelves to be able to collect books I like putting them up and being able to see them. But I am a bit of a collector/hoarder of books. I also write up a review, because that normally helps me gather my thoughts on them. And I know I do intend to reread many books; I just don't know where the time will be, what with the steady stream of books I keep buying. But yeah, I definitely hold on to books.

I normally place in on my book shelf. the reason being is that i always read my books over and over. If the book is good and i know some one else might enjoy it as much as i do. I would give if as a gift to that person.

I stare at the book for a few seconds, begin to recount all that happened in the book, and then think that the world is over because I no longer have that one book to read.

Haha, yeah, that works, too. But what if you already have a handful of more titles to read afterwards?

Then I feel a load more happier because I actually have something to do with my life.

If they are really good, I keep them but otherwise I either sell them back to a used bookstore or give them away to a friend.

Keep them! Fill the shelves, lend to family and friends, re-read them. I go through so many books that by the time I get back to a book I've already read, I enjoy it almost as much as the first time. Also, something about being in a room filled with books feels so peaceful.

I agree, there is definitely something very soothing about being surrounded by books.

I line them up on my bookshelf and admire them. I have quite a diverse collection and I've enjoyed all of them.

Me too. Unfortunately there's not enough space in my house for such a room.
