Do you have a Nook or a Kindle? Why?

I'm currently using Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. My brother bought a new tablet so he gave it to me. The Kindle app is not available in Singapore, so I took pains to download it. I have to change my address and all. By the way, it's perfectly legal. Apparently, a lot of people use this method

I own a Nook Simple Touch. I had purchased it after owning a Kindle,The second one Amazon had made. It had its pros and cons. My main problem was having to purchase kindle books, it was very frustrating, as I read many independent authors, who did not have a kindle version of their literature. Another downfall of the Kindle, in my opinion, was actually it's size, even though it is around the size of an actual book, it was a nuisance because I found no point into carrying a device that was not more portable than carrying a single book, but that was a pet peeve, more or less. I did enjoy the Kindle for many reasons as well. I enjoyed the feature of being able to easily type in my thoughts on what I am reading, it helped to not only be able to express my opinions on the author's ideas, but it also helped in keeping track of where I was in the literature I was reading, I would highlight the last word that I read, then added a note on what time, place, and mood I was in while reading, it really helped to optimize my reading time. Another positive feature of the Kindle were the games! It had things such as Sudoku, crosswords, and other, very fun word games, it helped when I did not feel like reading a book, but had time to burn. However, There are far more reasons why I prefer my Nook. First, the Nook has an interface is very simple, I can easily find any book, magazine, or even manual on the B&N store. It has truly optimized my reading, along with the sample that I can choose to read before purchasing. The Sampling feature has it's own fault, due to the fact that you can not delete the sample, even after you buy the full version of the literature. By far my favorite thing about my Nook is the size. You can easily flip through pages with the large, very comfortable buttons, or just by tapping the screen! The Nook lacks the sizable keyboard of the kindle, which truly allows portability, I can slip into my pocket, even take it to the gym, it's perfect for me, as I commute quite a bit. I doubt I will be replacing my e-reader in the near future.

Years ago I was very into the idea of getting an eReader like the Kindle or the Nook, but now I don't want one. I much prefer to use an Android tablet for my eBook purposes.

eReaders seem too constrictive to me. If I carry around my tablet I have access to a very large number of features, one of them being eBooks. I can use to put on some music in the background or lookup more information about the book I'm reading. Also... from what I've seen so far, eReader interfaces are not great. My friend has the Kindle Fire and it's just... not good the way they organize everything on there.

I also have better control over the eBook files themselves on a tablet (and really all files on the device), which is very important to me.

I look at it this way: I'd rather carry around one multi-purpose device than a specialized device for each function I may need on the go.

I have a Kindle. I was really against the entire idea of e-readers when they first started gaining in popularity - where was the feel of the book, the flicking of the pages, the excitement?

Then I was given a Kindle for Christmas and two years on, I still haven't looked back. Not one paper book in two years, I read everything on the Kindle. It's lighter, easier, I can download new books the moment I want them, the books are cheaper and I can take twenty books on holiday without having to upgrade my luggage allowance. Win all round!

I've recently been using my iphone ibooks app to read eBooks and I love it. However I would still choose paperback anyday, but having so many books available on your phone is really handy when you're on the move.

I am a Kindle user. I have a Paperwhite that I received as a gift last year for Christmas and a Kindle Fire HD that I received through a promotion. If one battery goes, I always have the other Kindle charged and ready to go. I am always purchasing from Amazon so that was the reason I wanted a Kindle. I love the Paperwhite when I am in the car or outside because there is no glare. I love the Kindle Fire for its speed and color.

Would you believe B&N Nook Books are not available to Canadians yet?
I purchased my Nook on Amazon not knowing this.
No wonder somebody on Kijiji was flogging their Nook Simple Touch for only $40.00.

The good news is all this will change on December 1st.
I'm soooooooooooooo anxious to get going!!!

I have a Kindle. I debated between a Nook and a Kindle when I originally bought myself the original Kindle Fire. I ultimately decided on the Kindle Fire, because I felt it was a better buy for what I wanted to use it for, and I like Amazon. I recently bought a Kindle Paperwhite to replace my iPad as a reader as the iPad was a little too large for me to read in bed. I really debated on whether to buy a Nook Glowlight or Kindle Paperwhite. The Paperwhite seemed to get higher marks all around. I also found it more attractive and didn't figure I would use the Nook benefits such as reading for an hour inside the store, although I really did like that idea.

I have a kindle. I love Amazon and the ease of being able to use the cloud reader on a computer or the kindle itself makes it ideal for me. I am not sure if Nook does this? I got the very first Kindle model before the Nook came out so I've always been a Kindle girl. Have the Kindle Fire HD and LOVE IT!
