Agatha Christie. I bought the entire collection, hard bound. It was such a pleasure and there's a lot of guilt too. . . .

Oh Man-

That would have to be Tim Dorsey of "Hurricane Punch." I thought it was going to be another lightweight tropical mystery (which is definitely not my style) but this book had me laughing all night. Wicked social satire, hilarious one-liners..

For me, guilty pleasures are Sydney Sheldon and Danielle Steele. I would never admit to reading them, but I do enjoy them. Now I don´t need to read the Steele books because I only need to read the back of the books to know what happens :)

I also studied Literature at University, and Chick lit (anything I can breeze through in a couple of days) truly relaxed me.

Agatha Christie is there for me when I just want to get lost in a book and in another world - she is a master and it only takes me a couple of days to go through her work too. Keeps me guessing until the end!

A recent guilty pleasure that our professor acted like we be snobby towards was African author Kola Boof and her memoir "Diary of a Lost Girl."

It's about her experiences as Osama Bin Laden's mistress.

Everyone in my class was like this mistress/sex slave is a beyotch
but I loved her autobiography so much I read it twice! She's got
some heavy issues but the book was just dang on good!

Gary Larson,

I realize that Cartoons aren't quite true literature, but man picking up a good farside collection just makes my day.

I love all books but the ones that are sort of guilty pleasures:

The First North Americans series by Kathleen and Michael Gear
A Patricia Cornwell once in a while
The Alex Cross series by James Patterson

I also love finding my old kids books and re-reading them...I just finished a volume of the Sleepover Friends series.

Stephenie Meyer, real guilty pleasure but some days a little bit of nonsensical vampire love is just what I need.

For me, it's Lee Child and his Jack Reacher series. I buy one at the airport every year.

Shhh...Don't tell anyone else, but I secretly read Janet Evanovich and Mary Janice Davidson. Sometimes you just need to laugh.

There's some authors and books here I've never even heard of... Hmmm - I think I'll give some a try... (in secret of course)
