Your insight into the book's themes is really valuable. I appreciate how you touched on the issue of bullying and how the teachers in the story handled it. It's so important for children to see positive examples of how to handle conflict, and it sounds like this book does a great job of that.

I reviewed this book. I agree that there are a lot of important points children can take from it. I was not impressed, however, by how the teachers handle the bullying, the principal in particular. But it is still a good book.

It’s so sad to see the parents leave for two years, but I love the fact that this story includes a boy with Down Syndrome. Representation matters! Great review.

I appreciate your fantastic review. Mary and Donny must have faced challenges in adjusting to their new environment when they moved in with their grandparents. Nevertheless, I'm pleased to hear that they eventually settled in and experienced both positive and negative moments. Additionally, it's heartening to see Donny's character portrayed in the story, as children with disabilities are often excluded from such narratives."

"Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure" is a heartwarming and insightful children's book that teaches important life lessons about family, friendship, inclusion, and bullying. I like how the book highlights the unique bond and love the Miller family had for each other, and how Mary Grace's character solved a mystery and made friends with Penelope. Great review.

I sampled this book and I fully agree with the review and the rating. I loved Mary Grace and Donny and their parents and how Mary Grace found Donny when he disappeared in the zoo. The penguin dance was awesome too. If I had children, it would've been a great book for quality time with them. :)

Amazing review! Sounds like a very fun and beneficial story for children. It’s nice that the author included a disabled child, because it teaches children that everyone is different, and everyone is worthy of being loved and respected. Congrats to the author for BOTD!

Best fit for upper elementary through middle school students, today's BOTD is Book 1 in The Grandma Gang Mysteries series. It follows Mary Grace and her brother Donny as they help The Grandma Gang solve crimes, make discoveries, and seek out adventure. Sounds like a great read and series! Thanks so much for your helpful review! :-)

Excellent review. This book sounds like a very lighthearted read that would be beneficial for children to read, teaching them that even though some people are different, everyone deserves to be loved and treated with respect.

'Official Review: Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure' by Catherine A. Pepe provides the readers with a clear concept of the thoughtful premise of the children's story. It describes every detail related to the book for readers. The point that the book describes the adventures of ten-year-old Mary Grace Miller and her family in California where they went to stay with their grandparents is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that it handles the case of how detrimental parents' behaviors can be to their children, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. The review has an optimistic ending!

This would be a nice adventure for the kids. I admire the love in the family. The kids may not actually appreciate the fact that their parents were leaving them behind, which I understood but its m only for their betterment. Nice review.

Woah, I miss my grandma. The adventure with grandma gang sounds really cool. I didn't expect this children book also addresses very serious topics like bullying and disability. Great review!

Interesting review. How did Mary Grace become a member of the grandma gang? I'd love to know. I'd also like to know how she and Donny deal with living with their grandparents, as well as all of their adventures. Congratulations in winning BOTD.
