Do you get easily distracted when you read?

Depends on the book, if it is a book I really like then it'll take a lot to take my attention away from the book. If I'm not that into the book then I get easily distracted.

It depends on how interesting the book is. I suppose that if I'm so intrigued with the book that I don't put it down, or get a little distracted then it's the mark of a really amazing book.

Not really. Reading is a serious hobby for me, I CHOOSE to read at the right time and right place so I don't get easily distracted. I know I lose focus when I'm worried or pissed off about something. Same thing when the book is boring. I could be diligently reading the letters, but my mind is somewhere else. The latter is much easier to deal with than the former, tho. I can wait for a certain book to grow on me.

At times this does happen. Other times I am so deep in the story I am not aware of people and things around me. Really it just depends on what is going in my life at that moment.

Im very easily distracted while reading, have to have the tv off, and even if a tv is on in the other room and I can hear it I get distracted by it.

The opposite actually. I get so engrossed in the book that I have no idea what's happening around me! I only get distracted when I'm really sleepy. Then I start daydreaming instead of focusing on the book.

I can usually tune out the background while reading but I find if something is technical or mathematical I need a quieter environment to absorb the material.

Like others have said, if i really enjoy the book nothing distracts me and i live in a very noisy place. If i am not that into the book everything becomes fascinating, even my dog rolling around.

No not always. If the story is too good, I don't get distracted. But some times I do, and in those cases, even a little bit of sound distracts me.

It has happened that many times when I read a book I forget everything around me. However, yes, it has also happened that if I am tired or if the book is boring, I may lose my focus. That usually means re-reading the same line or going back to check something I didn't really give my full attention to.

Sometimes, yes. Like if I'm in college and there are a lot of people around it can make me uneasy. Or if the story is incredibly boring

Any kind of music or conversations around me can very easily pull me out of a book, and I have to keep my laptop and phone quite a distance away from me or I'll never get through a chapter. Maybe it's time to invest in a noiseproof reading room!
