This extends to other things as well. My sister is a case-in-point. We were raised by the same parents and led pretty much the same kind of childhood, but my sister grew up to be a great traveler. I am not. I HATE to travel. She and her husband have traveled all over the world and she constantly tells me that I should go to THIS place or go to THAT place. I tell her, "No ! YOU should go this place or go to that place. I should stay right HERE."

"... Thousands at his bidding speed
And post o'er land and ocean without rest:

(with thanks to Mr John Milton)

Likewise, both my sisters are readers but we share nothing on genre. One only reads factual books (she's one of those "IT engineering" types

To be honest, though we would discuss books, no way would I take a recommendation from either of them.
My younger sister has borrowed books from me occasionally but, apart from the Scandanavian crime writers, she generally considers my choices way too tame! Despite my best efforts not a hope in hell of getting either of them to read Classics.
Ah well, at least they are generous with the book vouchers!

Yes, and John Milton practiced what he preached too. He made his daughters stand and wait on him. Reminds me of Grandma Antonia. *LOL*Fran wrote:@DATo

PROCLAMATION !!!! Let it be known throughout the land that Fran is one whose book recommendations I will unhesitatingly heed.
