It Ends with Us is an amazing read by Colleen Hoover. For a bit different level of writing and suspense I recommend you read Verity by Colleen Hoover, it will leave you with many questions in the end. It is a very dark book for CH fans but an amazing read.

It Ends With Us is a book that has soared in the popularity stakes thanks to TikTok and Instagram. Full of emotion, heartache, pain and realisation, It Ends With Us is a considerate read from Colleen Hoover.

A story of love, heartache, betrayal and personal decisions, It Ends With Us follows a young woman named Lily. When Lily meets Ryle, a successful surgeon, she thinks that her dreams have come true. In a life far away from her small-town upbringing, Lily knows the tides have changed in her favour. However, Lily soon discovers that Ryle isn’t the perfect man. Despite the fact that Ryle is charming and clever, he has a difficult time with relationships. This unsettles Lily and she find that her thoughts are occupied by her old love, Atlas. When Lily gets the chance to reconnect with Atlas, her new life with Ryle is under threat. What life will Lily choose?

A salient personal dedication from the author soon gives the reader a clue as to what they expect to encounter when they open It Ends With Us. A book that will leave you quite raw, exposed, conflicted and teary, It Ends With Us is a hard-hitting modern romance title.

I immediately warmed to lead character Lily, Hoover’s sympathetic lead. I got the feeling that Lily could easily be our friend, sister, colleague, or just someone we know. Lily’s experiences are very connective and relatable. Lily’s life is a solid representation of many women right now, in the past and in the future. For some, It Ends With Us may hit a little too close to home for some readers which is why I issue a trigger warning in regards to domestic violence and emotional abuse themes. However, I will make it clear that Colleen Hoover is extremely respectable in her approach to these vital subject areas, thanks to her own personal history. This is where I admired Hoover greatly for her ability to remain impartial despite her difficult background. I appreciated this move by the author.

Ultimately, It Ends With Us is a damaged love story. There is so much heartache to experience in this one! Hoover seems to excel in this department as this umbrella theme underpins the whole novel’s narrative direction. Hoover explores the tussle in the love stakes with the two male leads, Ryle and Atlas well. This perceptive writer also delves into Lily’s world, giving us a good insight into this woman’s emotional pain, conflicting emotions and fluctuating feelings. A novel with a vital underlying message accompanying themes of power, choice, depth, personal strength and emotional sway, It Ends With Us is a universal feel novel that will easily find a way into your heart. ♡

IT ENDS WITH US:
Colleen Hoover's most popular book, first book in a series of two. this is the story of lily, a 33-year-old young adult returns to boston after the funeral of her abusive father, she meets ryle, a doctor, who falls in love with him, at first everything is perfect, he shows her the love she has never received by a man but after their marriage the dance begins "the abuse" in the meantime she had met her childhood sweetheart atlas a tension arises between them, but she prefers to remain faithful to her husband who becomes more and more aggressive, lily becomes pregnant , but just after giving birth she prefers to divorce ryle and continue her life with her daughter "IT STOPS HERE WITH YOU AND ME. IT ENDS WITH US"
Personally I loved the story, the theme of abuse is very popular these days unfortunately, especially after the covid, so colleen hoover did well to write this story to show the atrocity of human beings towards others. During my reading I felt all the emotion possible, from joy to pity to anger to sadness and I pass I give this story a 4/5 and it is deserved.

I already posted this review on my personal blog but of course since I am new here so this is my first post!

It Ends With Us Book Review by C. Hoover

I just finished reading this book two hours ago and I had to sleep it off a little before I write down my first honest review. I really need my sanity back after finishing one of the most powerful, deeply moving and conflicting books. I don’t even know how to write this review without spoiling you the entire book but I will try my best and I will start by not putting the blurb up here.

The Book

It’s Colleen Hoover!! Need I say more? If you were captivated by her books then this will make you put her on the first place. This one by far is one of the best she has written! The plot is very much unconventional from what you normally expect from Colleen and true to one of the quotes in this book. This one is Brave and Bold.

The characters

A) Lily Bloom is your epitome of strong, independent and at the same time vulnerable heroine. You are going to love her from the first pages of the book and will admire her strength and personality in the middle and especially at the end of the book. Although, you will adore her, she is without her flaws.

Her vulnerability is borderline stupidity at times and it is irritating. I thought she should have been more cautious going into a relationship after growing up with a dark childhood. There was already an alarm bell going off in the first stage of the relationship and it was a disaster waiting to happen as I thought. I don’t like to judge people but sometimes our choices speak of who we are. Ryle made it clear the first time why he doesn’t do relationships and I think that for me is something to think about the man. Even Ryle himself knows why he can’t. So? If only Lily could have used her head a lot more than her heart eh? But who am I to blame Lily. Doctors in scrubs is such an eye candy.

B) Ryle Kincaid is not your ideal boyfriend but you will truly be rooting for him from the beginning until the last part of the book because I was. Hoover wrote Ryle in a way that you will love him so much that even not an ounce of your being will truly hate him in the end after all the things he did. There is one thing I felt about his character and that is pity. He was a victim of an accidental dark past that imprisoned him. He is a broken man who has so many redeeming qualities and I wish that he had that opportunity to turn his life around in the end.

C) And then lastly, there was Atlas who never made an appeal to me the entire book. Honestly, I don’t think his character made a huge difference in the story so I don’t really much have to say about him.

The love triangle

Totally not needed! There is so much to this story than just the Love Triangle once you read it. You will put it into the back burner once you go deep into the story and figure out that this book is about women empowerment.

The ending

I have two adjectives for the ending. One, Perfect. Two, Sad.

Perfect in how Lily carried herself in making the toughest choice of her life. She finally used her head! It was heartbreaking but it was necessary. It sends a powerful message to women going through the same kind of relationship.

Sad for Ryle. Gosh! The guy deserves a better chance at life. Lily is his one true love and you know how it ends with true love. You could have it with somebody you don’t necessarily end up with and that is okay. That is why Ryle’s POV should be written and until then I can’t say I’m truly satisfied about this book.

Overall

As much as I really find this book very imprasing, this will not go down as one of my favorites that is why I am giving it 9 out of 10 stars.

It ends with us by Collen Hover.
Backstory:
It ends with us. A very exciting book cuz it only made me wanna read more. The turn of tables made me nervous. It showcases a girl, Lily living in Plethora, Maine, who notices a new schoolboy namely Atlas living in an abandoned house through her window. She tries to know more about why would anyone live in an abandoned house alone and always wear the same clothes. Later, she helps him get new clothes and clean himself when her parents aren't at home.
She lives in an abusive home, herself. She often witnesses her mom getting beaten up by her dad. But he never put a hand on her in front of his daughter.
She continues helping the poor boy and starts getting attached to him.
One day, she again witnessed her mom getting beaten up by her dad and when she tries to get in the middle to stop him, she gets hit instead. Again, the other day she sees her dad coming late and trying to rape her mother. So she starts panicking and calls the police. The boy came to visit her and helps her calm down. They get too intimated and start taking off her clothes. Right then, her dad enters her room and sees them together. While scolding her about being with a homeless boy, the police come. And her dad got the excuse to blame the little boy for trying to do things to his underaged daughter. The police take him and she never sees him again.

On the day of her dad's death: (PRESENT TIME)
She was happy about the fact of her dad dying as her mother would no longer be abused by her dad. But she also felt a little sad as it was her dad. She felt too much to say anything at his eulogy. She immediately left his funeral and went back to her home in Boston. She went to the top of a building near her apartment to take some fresh air. There, she sees a young man named Ryle angrily crashing the door while on the phone and he starts smashing some chairs. She just watches him and he notices after cutting the call. They introduce each other and he asked her to have a one-night stand. She refuses and they just sit there playing THE NAKED TRUTH. A game that they play until the very end where they tell each other about everything they are feeling or felt very straightforwardly. Never hoping to see each other again, they don't meet for full six months. She finally opens a flower shop she always dreamt of. While she was cleaning the place she rented for her shop, a beautiful woman nearly the same age, Allysa, enters and asks her whether she needed any employees. Hadn't had a thought about that she was pretty unsure but later she agrees. The new girl was super friendly and helpful. She never did a job before so she was more excited than ever. While they were cleaning, Lily sprains her feet. Allysa calls her brother and husband to help. And her brother turns out to be Ryle himself. This is how their story starts but the end is what gets us both happy and a little sad. A very big turn takes in their lives when she meets Atlas again after years.

I loved this book. I read this book straight for 7 hours because that is how much I was overwhelmed and excited for the next chapter. Would recommend it to everyone. Also, those who can't read about domestic violence should take a second thought on reading this.

God...my standards become very high because of him❤️... lily- a strong independent women .. one should have to make the toughest and correct decisions like her..
Ryle - though he has a disorder ,he still loves lily.. according to me he didn't do that on purpose..but his love towards lily is very pure..

It Ends With Us Book Review by C. Hoover

I just finished reading this book 4 hours ago and I had to sleep it off a little before I write down my first honest review. I really need my sanity back after finishing one of the most powerful, deeply moving and conflicting books I have read this 2016. I don’t even know how to write this review without spoiling you the entire book but I will try my best and I will start by not putting the blurb up here.

The Book

It’s Colleen Hoover!! Need I say more? If you were captivated by her books then this will make you put her on the pedestal. This one by far is one of the best she has written although my favourite remains to be Maybe Someday, I had to give her props for this book. The plot is very much unconventional from what you normally expect from Hoover and true to one of the quotes in this book.

She could have saved me from heartache in reading this book. But who am I to blame Lily. Doctors in scrubs is such an eye candy.

B) Ryle Kincaid is not your ideal book boyfriend but you will truly be rooting for him from the beginning until the last part of the book because I was. I just wish Hoover wrote Ryle’s POV too so I can dive into his thoughts. But this book is one-sided so it was really hard for me to let go of Ryle.

C) And then lastly, there was Atlas Corrigan who never made an appeal to me the entire book.

The ending

I have three adjectives for the ending. One, Perfect. Two, Sad. Three, Lame.

Lame. Lily and Atlas? First love is always great and all that and you never forget it and I think that is how it should have remained between Atlas and Lily. The book was already great without their love story to be honest. I find their relationship to be more like between best of friends in the end. It was comforting and convenient, nothing really exceptional about it.

Overall

As much as I really find this book very impacting, this will not go down as one of my favorites that is why I am giving it 8 out of 10 stars.

Its ends with us was my first romance novel . The start was really good . It was interesting how the characters and story was placed but as i read it further the domestic violence happening freaked me out tbh. The concept of naked truth was my favourite part. I really liked ryle in the starting but after what he does in the book i felt weird. Also I really didn't like the character atlas. The way atlas was written its hard to imagine a boy like him in real life. Its character feels like its too good to be true . He says the perfect thing he does the perfect thing . I feel like characters should be written in a way that the readers can imagine in real life but this wasn't the case in atlas's character. The story was not bad but its definitely isn't one the books I would want to read again! Also i feel lily was confused almost the whole time. The characters would have been nice improved . If i would rate this book out of 10 it would be a 7 .

I hated this book.
It was so problematic , very predictable, the way she romanticized a literal physical abuser was insane to me. id give it an honest rating of 5/10 , would not recommend At all.

How can a traumatic experience affect a person? That's the question you ask yourself before reading this book. In this book you will encounter a very strong woman who delt with her trauma in a brave way. I would personally rate this book a good 6. I can say that it's a good one but it's a cliche book. She was problamatic, and toxic. the book was so predictable.
