Yes. The same author twice. George Ella Lyon. She's from Kentucky, same as me, and when I was in school, she would hold exclusive meetings with the kids. In order to get in to one of the meetings you had to be in the top 10 performers on a specific writing assignment given prior to her visit. I also met Gwen Hyman Rubio during a books tour for Icy Sparks (a fantastic book, by the way!).

Well, Tolkien covered Middle Earth... Now all we have to do is find the one who has the rest... :D

Sadly no. I wish I met Ian Flemming, or Stephen King or Charlotte Bronte.

Imagine a conversation with Charlotte Bronte... Or Edgar Allan Poe... Shakespeare! Then again, most of the old writers were serious folks who probably had little patience for a character who wasn't literary... :D I can't imagine trying to achieve conference with Emily Dickinson!!

I also met an author of a book for short stories we read in my Women's Lit class, because she was actually a Physics professor at my college. Her name is Vandana Singh and she was super nice. It's really cool and intimidating to talk to an author about their work. I kept starting to say "I think the author meant..." and then realizing she was in the room. haha
I am SO jealous you got to meet John Green! I can imagine he's really nice :) I've never met any!

On November 14th 2013, I met 'Ryan Davis', author of "27" - He came to visit my college where I was given the option to sit in on one of his talks as I'm part of a Creative Writing class.

I had the chance to meet John Green at a signing at the Cincinnati Library last autumn, and he was just as laidback and genuine as he appears in his Vlogbrothers videos.
Before he came out for his Q&A, he wandered off somewhere in the library and nobody could find him for a good half an hour; Apparently when they finally found him, he was sitting in the kid's section, reading.
Later, while he was signing my book, he looked up and noticed that I was wearing a strand of pearls, and a button down blouse (I tend to overdress when I'm nervous... I was very nervous.) He said that he was flattered that I dressed up so nice to come see him, and then apologized for only wearing jeans and a hoodie to meet me.

Oh my god, you met John Barrowman! I am very jealous.

I met Margaret Peterson Haddix a few years back. She came to my local library. I got to ask her about the ideas behind some of her books and she told us about her life and suggestions for young writers. At the end, she signed a few of my books. She was really nice and I'm so glad I got the chance to meet one of my favorite authors.

My neighbour is an author, but I haven't read her book yet.

It is an autobiography about her life.

Children's/ Young Adult authors quite often came to my school; definitely remember Anne Fine and Anthony Horowitz, but can't remember who the others were.

I have not. I have had a friend whose uncle lived next to Dan Brown, but I never got to meet him nor did I meet the uncle so it is possible the story wasn't even legit.
