"Old" Children's Book

I am looking for an "old" children's book. I believe the name of it is "In The Deep Deep Woods". When I do a search for it I can't find anything about it. I think I may have the name wrong?

It is about a boy who wanders into a forest where a creepy red and white kangaroo looking creature lives. I don't remember much about it except that I remember it terrifying me as a kid. Please help me find it as I would like to read this to my kids to keep them in bed:)

no but it sounds really cool, but i think it might be a bit to scarry for my little 3year old... :evil:
