Yes, I judge a book by its cover. I love it when the cover art grabs my attention and lures me to pick up the book to take a look. I also pay attention to the title. Then I read the summary and see if I am interested in the plot.
I love the font of the Nimue title. The cover is a bit dark overall but perhaps that is what was intended. I think the art work suits the novel.

If you mean the cover design, then I don't pay much attention to it. But I do read the blurb and reviews, if any before deciding to buy it.

I absolutely judge a book by its cover. Often, the cover will help give you some insight into the emotion this book could evoke. For example, brighter covers often mean more of a happy story while darker covers will have a darker theme. Nimue: Freeing Merlin has a dark cover and can foreshadow a darker theme. The design on the cover is definitely intriguing. It's simple because of the one "medallion" on the front. However, when you take a closer look, it is an intricate medallion. It could foreshadow that things may seem simple and easy, but will eventually become more complex.

I haven't finished Nimue yet, but when I'm not reading for review, I often do judge a book by it's cover. I've read too many spoilers in reviews and summaries, so I don't bother outside of OBC.

Most of the time, I choose books based on authors I already know and like. I may also select a book based on a recommendation from a friend. For me to read a book by someone new and unknown, the next best thing will be the book cover! This will be especially important if I’m in a physical bookstore. It gets me to pick up the book and read the front cover. The book cover is like meeting someone for the first time; it’s your first impression! It should tell me what the genre of the book is, the tone, and who the target reader is.

I liked the Nimue book cover, but after reading the book, I didn’t feel like it was a good fit for the book. It gives off a “Game of Thrones” epic fantasy feel that doesn’t play out (and admittedly, I was somewhat disappointed by this). This book was more of a poetic, inspirational, coming-of-age fantasy with romance; it would have been better to have a brighter, more whimsical cover that would appeal to readers of this particular genre.

I would say that no matter what anyone says. There is always going to be an extent to which we judge things by their appearance. Same is the case for books. For "Nimue: Freeing Merlin", I would say that the cover grants the book a mystical mysterious feeling. It's a bit on the dark side, reflecting the darker aspects of the much known aurthurian legends.

It's generally not recommended to judge a book solely by its cover. While a cover can provide some initial impressions, it doesn't reveal the full content or the quality of the writing inside. It's better to explore reviews, summaries, or sample pages to get a better understanding of what the book offers.

I strive not to judge books solely by their covers, I do acknowledge that the cover often influences my initial interest in a book.

When it comes to buying books, I do judge by it’s cover. The cover should come off as appealing, so as to make the potential reader eager to purchase and commence reading.

When it comes to books, I would definitely judge by its cover. The font size and the title makes one curious to find out the contents of the book. The cover art is equally making sense.

I often read books through recommendations, and also more from blurbs. I have to admit though, a vibrant and intriguing book cover will attract me in a bookstore, an eye catching cover with interesting artwork is always good for this.
I'm not sure that Nimue's cover exactly matches the story, but it is mystical and interesting.

No, O do not judge a book by its cover. However, the cover of this book is not fitting. It doesn't give a hindt of what the book is about in any way. So, it might mislead people who have no idea about it.

I agree with you totally also, reviews from others would also help me in selecting a particular book.

I definitely judge a book by its cover. Authors put in so much effort into hiring an illustrator and cover designer. The cover tells me what the author thought would would capture the essence of their work. That being said, I look for specific things on the cover: the title, the overall feel of the art, which reveals details like the book's purpose (to entertain or to inform), the maturity of the book's intended audience, when the book was written, etc.
