Re: Bookmarks

Post by MantisShrimpwhoReads »

I make tiny origami butterflies and use them as bookmarks if I have the time and the paper around, when I'm done with the book I usually lose them. I do have a bunch of actual bookmarks but I'm afraid I'll lose them so I do this.

I have a habit of collecting bookmarks. If the library has them, I'm stacking up. B&N has a sale, I'm walking out with at least 10.

Current one in use is a metal hooked mark with a jade ribbon. Gift from a friend

I mainly read on my computer, and it automatically saves where I last was in documents. But when I read physical book, usually the receipt.

My best friend gave me a bookmark last year that has simple quote about friendship on it and I have been able to keep track for almost two years. Before that I used old pictures I had from growing up.
All I need is a new book and a place to read it...

I used to have some nice book marks but have since lost them. Now I just use a piece of paper, old envelope, whatever I can find.

I use free ones from the local book store, mainly because I tend to lose all of the ones I buy, so I stopped buying them.

I never was in the habit of using book marks, I seemed to be able to always remember which page I was on.

I use bookmarks from the library or bookmarks I have received as gifts but most of the time I use an index card. It doubles as something I can take brief notes on if the need arises :-)

I'm terrible when it comes to what I use as bookmarks... a ponytail holder, scrap paper, bookstore/library receipt, even bobby pins have come in handy! I just grab whatever is closest to me and hope it stays! I know thicker items are terrible for the spine, so I've been trying to get into a better habit of using just bookmarks, or at least just paper. Maybe it's time to get out the scrapbooking supplies and make some pretty bookmarks.

I don't tend to use bookmarks, I normally retain the page number I'm on in my head, but when a bookmark comes with a book I can't not use it. My last bookmark I got was one which was a visa for a fictitious place in the book I was reading

I have a bookmark addiction, I love getting them whenever I go to a bookstore, but then I wind up using a scrap piece of paper most of the time because I forget a bookmark at home

When I have a bookshop book mark on hand I will use that, otherwise I will either remember the page/chapter number in my head or use a piece of paper/tissue.
