J. Edgar. Good show, very well made as most of Clint Eastwood's films are. Some of the stuff they came up with was kind of surprising, but then again maybe not. It just shows that even the High and the Mighty can be perverts too. I dont like Leonardo DeCaprio much, but he did a pretty good job in this one. I dont know if it was the way they had him made up, but it looked like DeCaprio has gotten kind of flabby.

Last movie in the theater was Frozen. The fire alarm was pulled halfway through. My daughter didn't understand what was going on, and she was very upset we were leaving before it was over.

American Blackout.
A movie special about America having a complete blackout (obviously). It shows a series of different people and how they are effected by the blackout. People looting the stores and killing people for food and water. The havoc in the streets and in the homes. Getting stuck in elevators. Killing themselves. It was terrible.
I am incredibly influential and the second the movie ended I filled every container I had with water and stored them in the pantry and called my mom crying. She watched it and had the same reaction.
So obviously it's a family trait.
Hated this movie so much.

Remember The Day After in around 1980 or so about nuclear war? That was a scary one.

August: Osage County. Incredible casting. Roberts and Streep were perfect together. First 15 minutes of the film I spent thinking "OMG...I GREW up with these people" LMAO. My best friend watched it the same day so we could discuss it over coffee and she voiced nearly the same thought. We put the "fun" in dysfunctional families. Seriously this is an amazing film. Better than The Butler..and that was outstanding.
10/10

" Fireflies in the Garden " an overwrought , boring, total waste of time, thanks to a no-talent writer, director, a couple of whiny children, along w/a very unattractive male lead who had a penchant for keeping his mouth open....add some sulking teen-agers, etc..

Boring.....ZZZZzzzZZZZZzZz...where's the " yawning " emoticon?....

Other than the above, great movie!...out of 10, i give it 10, ( that is a MINUS 10 ) :P :P

Ninety minutes out of my life, wasted!!!

Captain Phillips. Great performance by Tom Hanks. Started a bit slow for my taste...but edge of your seat by the ending (...even though I remember when this actually happened and knew he was eventually rescued...) Well worth a watch. 8/10

You should use my rating system, Suzy. One stupid if its not too dumb. Firelies sounds like it deserves at least 7 stupids.
