I agree with you! I also thought about some sort of Safari, for example. However, the book did not disappoint and the cover is still impecable.Valentina Vargas 1 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2024, 15:55 The cover is beautiful, well drawn and the woman's eyes are intriguing, however, it made me think if was some kind of a wild life story. I assumed that the book would be all about camping, hunting or animal welfare. I was surprised to discover there were other scenarios, cities, etc and that the wild life wasn't the biggest part of the plot.

Right! I also thought this book was about either animal migration, almost like Noe's Arch, or some sort of African Safari/Adventure!Eva Nyaburi wrote: ↑19 Jan 2024, 23:37 The animals are well drawn on the cover and at first glance, I thought the book would be about animal migrations. That is before reading anything about it.

I have to admit, I do love the colours. I think that's what makes it so interesting to look at. But I thought that it was a safari adventure!Smrithi Arun wrote: ↑20 Jan 2024, 23:27 While the colours of the cover are appealing, the cover by itself kind of gives off historical fiction vibes. Upon learning that it is a science fiction book, it just made more sense.

However, and here's the twist, the cover turned out to be a bit misleading. The initial chapters and the cover had me believing we were diving into a narrative centred around brontotheres and this Thunder Valley society. It was only towards the end of the book that the big "a-ha" moment hit me—those eyes on the cover weren't from Thunder Valley at all; they were Keldiari's, one of the mysterious s'orne!
It's kind of like the cover played a subtle game with our expectations. While it doesn't exactly match the immediate setting, it cleverly ties in with a crucial element of the story.
