This is a very educative book. Parent's actions affect children a lot especially when it relates with divorce or any violent acts. They go through a lot and become traumatized as well. I'm so eager to read this book and learn more.
Thank you for the great review.
Congrats on becoming BOTD!

A good review of the book. It covers the issue children go through when their parents are getting a divorce.

This book seems to capture the emotional turmoil and difficult transitions that come with adolescence. Lea's feelings of frustration, sadness, and loneliness over her parents' separation and being sent away for the summer are relatable for young readers going through changes. The way Lea learns to adapt to her new environment and bond with her aunt sounds like a meaningful coming-of-age journey.

I like how the mystery and supernatural elements with the historical touches keep the story exciting. The exploration of the island and investigation into its past create an immersive world for Lea's personal growth. The balance of realism with the mysterious happenings is an intriguing hook.

SandPeople: An Across Time Mystery by Cheryl Kerr is a coming-of-age story with a bit of history, a sense of mystery, and a few ghost sightings.
- I didn't expect ghost sightings but the rest of it sounds fascinating and Intrigueing. I'm not part of the target audience but still going to read it. It was an extra catchy review. Thank you.

As hard as a divorce can be, especially on children, I like that this author was intent on creating a colourful story where Lea comes into herself. Using positive structures like summer, the beach, and new interesting people, I'm sure this story will get through to any kids in similar situations.
