Do you discuss books offline?

why work in a library if you don't read? that is just crazy

When I worked at a library I found out the same thing, most of the employees don't read. My boss read, along with all of the student pages, like myself, were readers. Aside from us, there were only two other employees who were readers. I just found it shocking that people who work around books so much, and have so much knowledge about them, did not care to read. I was also surprised that the student pages (four of which whom were high school students, and one college student) were the biggest readers.

As an avid reader, I have never understood that myself. It really gets up my nose how many of my colleagues scoff at the thought of reading!

The money. It's good money working for government public libraries, and it's better than digging ditches. So they're there. Plus for some reason our HR lets in complete ignoramuses to work for us! They wouldn't get a job anywhere else!

I think I'm lucky, because I have three people to discuss books at home

We just buy something, or read by comp. (I usually finish the first)

Then we quotate and discuss and laugh and even reread the best places in roles. That's the way!

My family reads, but we all read such different books that we don't discuss them to great lengths. We tell each other about books we like, but that's about it. My sister though, we do talk about books a LOT. While we still have different tastes we are the two biggest readers in the family so we'll discuss any and all books, even ones we don't like.

I only discuss novels with others in person when I see them reading a novel that I have read. Of course it makes for a short discussion because they have not yet finished reading it yet.

I love to chat about books - with everyone! Even if someone isn't a reader, I still find myself telling them about what I read (maybe hoping they will join in?). My hubby used to read but doesn't much anymore - and I would love it if we both read the same things and could chat about them! It's so fun to find someone who loves to read - and can share thoughts/feelings about books (and even get excited when the movie comes out!).

If I had friends i would discuss books in the real world, but i recently dropped ALL of them. ( i have my reasons.)
so now the only place i really talk about books is in forums and blogs

I try to but no-one I know is as excited with books as me.
So I'll be enthusiastic about a new book and they'll be like "yeh. It was alright."
It annoys me so much but online I can express it however much I want!

Fairly often I find myself discussing books with friends. If I am reading something on a friends suggestion I will usually try to engage them in a discussion afterwards.
