Re: Review of Sonora Pass

Post by Orji cyril Kaluokoro »

Sonora Pass is a comic book by Jaime Olmos, illustrated by Kevin Nichols, that explores the themes of friendship, love, crime, and mystery. The story begins with Esteban and Rachel discussing their divorce at the Veda Shrine Garden, where Rachel requests that he sign over the house to her. Esteban then meets with Raul and Jonah to discuss baseball, with Jonah limiting his interest to the Red Sox. They discuss Esteban's upcoming job in Montreal while camping, and Jonah decides to consult for them, allowing them to spend time together in Montreal.

The following year, Jonah and Esteban meet Celia at the Hotel de la Provence in Montreal, where they perform songs together. Esteban informs Claude that he and his friends used to be in the band Jabberwocky and requests his assistance in making a band reunion celebration at the hotel possible, which Raul and Rodrigo will attend. This reunion causes a shift in the lives of these groups of friends, which can be read about in Sonora Pass.

The book's engaging plot is a testament to the author's imagination and the use of photos to convey messages on specific pages. Jonah, the protagonist, is a favorite character as he is more than a buddy and more than a professional in his job, given his sacrifices for his friends, Esteban and Celia.

The book is rated 5 out of 5 stars and recommended for anyone who enjoys comic books with a hint of crime and suspense. The book has undergone a thorough editing procedure, resulting in few errors. Overall, Sonora Pass is a captivating and engaging read that explores the themes of friendship, love, crime, and mystery in a unique and engaging way.

Thank you for a good review.
I was surprised and delighted as well by the comic style of this pic, accompanied by amazing illustrations and conversations.
Congratulations to the author and illustrator on this.
I like the themes and I am very curious about what happens to Esteban and his friends after the band reunion takes place. In the same breath, I do wonder what happens to Rachel as well, since he refused her request at the beginning of the book.

I'm rarely into graphic novels, but there's something morbidly charming about a murder mystery mixed with humor. Thank you for your review.

Great review!

The way that this book is surface-level summarized pretty quickly lets me know that there’s much more than meets the eye within the actual contents. Considering the mystery aspect of the plot, I’d say that works very nicely. The exposition being done as a comic book/graphic novel is also a clever choice, as there’s so much room to play and express certain story elements in a particularly effective way.

Congrats to the author on BOTD!

I don't entirely find comic books fascinating. But the reviewer did a good job at making it captivating. I'll explore this book because of it's intrigue. Another captivating part was the praise for the book's graphics and its ability to convey it's message which shows another level of writing prowess. Thank you for the review. Sonora Pass will sure enter my list of books to be visited.

A lovely review of the book, thank you. It is a story of friends, family, betrayals and love. I found it a novel way of reading a book, like a comic. In this way you can see the characters and places as you read… refreshing and surprisingly absorbing.

The book “Sonora Pass” by Jaime Olmos is a story that includes many messages that will benefit members of society. There are things that affect our lives, the most important of which are those who surround us from family members, work friends, and even enemies who are evil towards us. All of these things take over our lives. Many openly miss opportunities that may be useful, so from this standpoint, this life must be exploited well, away from the influence of all these people. Good review :tiphat:

Sonora Pass, a graphic book by Jaime Olmos and illustrated by Kevin Nichols, follows Esteban, Rachel and friends. It explores the story of separations, unexpected reunions, friendships, and its impact on each of us. The combination of love, crime, and mystery, with a heavy focus on friendship and professionalism, is appealing. Congratulations on BOTD!

While the artwork isn't quite my cup of tea, the storyline does pique my interest. Given that I've never delved into this particular genre of comic books before, I think I will give it a shot.
